Coll Lodge, Isle of Harris, hotel in Leverburgh

Featuring a sauna, Coll Lodge, Isle of Harris is situated in Manish. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. The holiday home has facilities for disabled guests.

This is a beautiful lodge. Practicalities :- it is very clean; beds are very comfortable: the kitchen is very well equipped and everything works; the showers are easy to control for temperature, a good size (2 walk in one over bath) and have a good flow. The bedding and towels are good quality and soft . Soaps shampoos kitchen cleaner dishwasher tablets etc all provided . There is good space for 6 people - large table and good comfy sofas . Location: beautiful surroundings, it is on the Bays road which means it does take a little while (15/20 mins to get to the larger roads ) … but it’s just so peaceful. Seals that can be watched from the window in the distance or the seal watching area just up the road. We briefly saw an otter in the pool in front of the lodge one morning (sorry fishermen -I know they eat the salmon!) and a sea eagle over the lodges. Further afield we saw Russia dolphins at Tiumpan Head; golden eagles on the Hushinish road (beautiful beach) and sea eagles is a variety of places including North Uist and loads of seals plus of course all the usual bird life. We were also treated to fantastic aurora on our final night. Food: everything shuts on a Sunday make sure you have food. A lot of the food outlets seem to open Thursday to Saturday I think we are late in the season so many were closed. Check Facebook pages or call before travelling if you are heading for somewhere specifically. We struggled to find an open cafe at the start of the week. An excellent general food and hardware store at Leverburgh plus stores in Tarbert. This is an incredibly relaxing place to stay - a place out of time and we would definitely return.

SOLACE COTTAGE, hotel in Leverburgh

Located in Bunavoneader in the Isle of Harris region, SOLACE COTTAGE provides accommodation with free private parking. Outdoor seating is also available at the holiday home.

The owner was an absolute star and let us stay an extra night when the ferry was cancelled. View from the front window is amazing and changes all the time. All of the 'Essence of Harris' diffusers make a great atmosphere. Cottage is very close to a grocer and 24hr petrol pump. You can walk to Tabert (we did) but is a bit risky in the dark.

Ceol na Mara Guest House, hotel in Leverburgh

This peaceful, 5 Star rated (by Visit Scotland), B&B has beautiful views over Loch Kindebig and is 5 minutes from Tarbet Ferry Terminal. It offers free Wi-Fi and breakfasts made with local produce.

We had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The location is beautiful and peaceful. The room is spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, offering homemade cookies and whisky on arrival, which was such a nice touch. Breakfast was a highlight, with many delicious options to choose from.

Isle of Harris Brewery is an excellent place to eat & drink. An Clachan is a very well stocked store with an amazing range of quality gifts and practical items upstairs. Borrisdale Tweed is well worth a visit for quality home furnishings. Kilda Cruises are great.

    Paradise in the sunshine

Paradise in the sunshine A tiny but delightful place on southernmost tip of Harris. Rodel church from 1520s is a must see (used for Call the Midwife Xmas special) and Isle of Harris brewery next to the pier does terrific food with friendly service. Short CalMac ferry from here to Uists was magical on a sunny September morning

Beautiful views and lots to do and see.

Beautiful views and lots to do and see. St Clements Church at nearby Rodel is a must. The Isle of Harris Brewery restaurant serves excellent, locally sourced food and has a deli style shop open until restaurant is closing. There is also a very good local store. A good base for exploring the scenic sites, galleries and Harris tweed shops/experince of South Harris. Also a regular ferry service to Berneray from where you can drive to North Uist and beyond or just go as a foot passenger for a day trip. Bus service to Tarbert and around villages of South Harris. Plenty of signposted walks.

Leverburgh is a nice little town, It has a great local shop, can get all your food there, lots of choice including fresh fruit and veg, bread etc. Isle of Harris Brewery is an excellent pub/restaurant at the ferry, great food and nice atmosphere. Beaches on the Northwest are excellent, between 5-20min drive for a good variety. We cycled a lot and found the road routes excellent.

Leverburgh is a very pretty town.

Leverburgh is a very pretty town. We loved the local pub, The Bothy, which had absolutely stunning views and great food, although some lighter lunch options would be good too. We also loved The Isle of Harris Brewery down by the ferry terminal, which had great food options too, and equally stunning views as we watched the ferries coming in, although it was a bit of a walk from the centre of Leverburgh where we were staying.

The place was fantastic. Peaceful, clean, plenty of room and so reasonably priced. The staff are fantastic, we had a puncture and they were able to help immediately. Leverburgh is remote, but there was so much to do and the house was full of games, puzzles, dvds etc so we could keep busy even in bad weather! We'll definitely be back!

The house is very nice place to stay. It is attractively and individually decorated, comfortably furnished and spacious. Everything is to a high standard. Leverburgh has a shop, pub and trips to St Kilda so is a good place to stay. The property is good value for money. We stayed in January and the house was nice and warm.

The house is very well appointed with a high quality finish throughout. Our room was very spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, with en-suite facilities that would rival many top hotels. The lounge and breakfast room was a pleasure to be in.
