Staff was very welcoming and professional. Room was clean and everything we needed. Ample free safe parking. The trout on the menu is very good. Could do with more attention to vegetarian dishes.

Fantastic welcoming staff. Clean characterful rooms. Nice touch was the pot of instant porridge in the room alongside the usual hot drinks options.

Really good service, great value and great breakfast. These folk are keeping a big, old hotel running by hard work and personal service. It had a real feel-good factor and personality albeit in a very dated hotel.
On the outskirts of Gretna Green, The Mill Forge Hotel offers luxurious accommodation in southern Scotland.

The staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. It was so much appreciated as I had to have a room on ground floor easy accessible due to a leg injury. Not only did they do this but also provided me with a wheelchair and breakfast downstairs - a big thank you

Room smallish , not much storage space, but agreeably equipped.
Had trouble with the shower and referred problems to front desk.
Staff were great. The breakfast team were excellent and handled a very busy breakfast this morning with aplomb.
It was a happy place, loads of smiles from happy guests.

At the junction of many roads so easy to go off exploring in different directions. Some beautiful parkland with bridges over the river - and open public toilets! Helpful tourist office with lots of leaflets. Would recommend the prehistoric trail of Eskdale but you may need boots and a bit of energy to get up the steep hills to the forts. People friendly and a useful bakery and large co-op. Lots of buses stopping so may be suitable for a visit by public transport.
A Beautiful lodge located right next to the river ewes. Stunning scenery. The town is part of the Langholm Walkers Welcome Community. There are 14 different walks to venture out on. You get a complimentary basket of wood upon arrival. Loved the wood burner and the underfloor heating was a lovely extra. Rebooked for April 😁
We liked the location of the hotel, the friendly staff and that they welcome dogs. The new owners are working really hard on this old pub so go bearing this in mind - the staff work really hard. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean, and the bed linen is fresh and spotless - the full breakfast is delicious too!
