Location was good. Liked that the room was in a private little cottage at the back of the property. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to public transport so that we could catch a train into the City.

Waterhouse Apartment 8 was extremely large and airy - great for 4 people. Huge living/dining room. Enormous master bedroom with en-suite.
As the apartment was first in the row of apartments it had lovely light from the gable and river side windows.

The public areas (lobby, bar, restaurant) were great, but the room (Clyde Suite) was well overpriced for the levels of equipment, type of furniture etc.
The bed and chairs were ok, but the other furniture was like 1980's Argos melamine covered chipboard. The fridge from our suite was 'missing'.
The toilet was cracked, and the a plastic shower over bath was a long way short of the Premier Inn quality we stayed in Penrith on our way up.
Your first interaction of the room is where you put the card to activate the lights etc. This was worn out and dirty, the decoration was tired and shabby. Pretty disappointing considering the cost and the amazing surroundings.

We are Lanarkian so we were home for Lanimer week! Always fun, and our stay at New Lanark Waterhouses is always special because the village is stunning to look at, and a fantastic area for wildlife and hiking. Don’t forget to explore the gardens at Castlebank and stroll around the Loch!

Great walks near the hotel on the nature trail - stunning views of the waterfalls! The town itself is beautiful with lots of history, and our room had a great view of the water. Loved the room, it was huge and really comfy. Will definitely be coming back.

A lovely historical town with lots of individual shops.
A lovely historical town with lots of individual shops. Be sure to visit The New Lanark Model Village, which is a World Heritage Site from the 18th century. It is a Mill Village sitting alongside the picturesque River Clyde, and see the Falls while you are there.

We toured New Lanark and the Clyde River Falls. The forest there is magical and definitely worth the visit.
Though a small town, Lanark has traffic congestion problems. It seems that to go anywhere all traffic has to use the main highway through town.
Fabulous greeting, lovely staff and the owner Maureen was just the perfect hostess offering me a drink on arrival.
The location was perfect too just off the main road and within easy walking of the local eatery. It is very close to the Lanark Moor country park which I had a lovely walk around in the evening on my way back from the pub. I was upgraded to a twin room even though I was alone so this room was perfect with a little more space. The breakfast was superb, freshly cooked to order which I much prefer in a hotel.
The property was in an excellent location and had lovely views of the river from every window. There was everything you’d need to cater for yourself, and if you wanted, you could popover to the adjacent hotel for a drink or something to eat.
Beautiful big room and breakfast. A separate lounge area. Very genial and helpful host. He even made dinner reservations for us. Great place to stay in the Lanark area. We loved it.
Clean and tidy with kitchen facilities, that meant I could make myself at home somewhat.
Close to town centre and Lanark train station for trains to Glasgow.
