The location was ideal for being able to experience all of Arran but also finding some peace and quiet. The little stream was loved by our dog and made sitting out on the decking all the more peaceful. Its a compact but very well thought out space. Hosts were super friendly & very helpful.
Located in Lochranza, 12 miles from Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park, Lochranza Youth Hostel has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a bar.
Beautiful little village on the coast of Arran. Nestled right in the sheltered bay opposite the stunning Holy Isle. Clean and quaint with all sorts of friendly people and businesses. Easy to access with a short drive from Brodick or there is a good local bus service. Making it the perfect place to visit or stay just out of the way of the main town. Highlights were; staying at The Mail Barn, dining at The Bay Hotel, and popping into Chameleon ladies boutique. As well as walks on the beach and wildlife and bird watching in the bay. Great location to see the sun set over the Island or watch the starry sky on a clear night!

Two nights was just enough to explore Lamlash and Whiting Bay, walk the circular route round to see Giants Graves and then continue the coastal path up to Brodick to get the ferry home. If I had longer I'd stay in a few more locations, get over to Holy Island and/or hire a bike to get further afield. Lovely location for quiet walks, views, time alone and very dog-friendly. Prepare for all weathers.

Very quaint small town, not crowded.
Very quaint small town, not crowded. Not a lot of choice for places to eat, or grocery stores, but sufficient enough. The natural beauty of the area and lack of crowds more than makes up for any shortfalls, and with an easy and short bus ride over to Brodick, your choices double with more restaurants and things to do, though a little more crowded than Lamlash. Be prepared to do a bit of walking to get anywhere in Lamlash, particularly if you stay at someplace like the Arran Sleep huts, as they are nearly at the far end of the town, and are about 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop for Brodick.

Lamlash, although a small village had stunning views to Holy Isle, a small supermarket, a couple of pubs serving food, (The Drift Inn), good bus service connecting to Brodick as well as option to travel to the Holy Isle by boat. The Coast Discovery Centre is free to visit and the Arran Coastal path passes through either to Whiting Bay or to Brodick.

The cottage was cosy and clean. The view of the sea was perfect! The location was ok, a bit farther than I imagined, approx. 20 minutes by feet from the closest bus stop. Poorly lightened path to the hotel, though. The bathroom was very nice, small but clean and well furnished. The beds were super comfy! TV was working perfectly (maybe a bit small but that's not a big minus). The communal kitchen was very modern, clean, and well-furnished.
Such a lovely little cottage, everything we needed. The views were amazing. Just across the road from the beach with seals to watch and Holy Island just across the bay. Lamlash has everthing you need, Co op, coffee shops restaurants including some interesting History.
