Good sized room was nice and clean, able to get a comfortable room temperature using the electric heater for what was an exceptionally comfortable night's sleep for both of us. Breakfast consisted of everything you would want, including black pudding, haggis, eggs done to my liking, etc. Staff very pleasant. Room for parking immediately outside the front of the premises.

Breakfast was excellent, all fresh local produce and lots of it! Room spacious and spotless. Along with biscuits there was lemon drizzle cake, a nice touch!
Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Steph and Ned greeted me outside as I wasn't sure of exact location and as I was running late for meal booking Ned offered to give me a lift. Lovely couple.

Lodge was super clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. Even though it was -6° outside you definitely didn't feel it as the heating was superb! Little touches of cleaning supplies and toiletries. Location is beautiful, it's so peaceful, the perfect place to unwind.

Value for money
Large bedroom
Rooms were warm
Lots of open fires

Beautiful scenery and so quiet - perfection.
We ate in the hotel and had an excellent meal in the evening. The breakfast menu had a good variety to choose from - the full Scottish breakfast was fantastic and highly recommended.
We were visiting relatives so didn’t have time to walk but given more time would explore the hills around.
We ventured into nearby Kelso which was a lovely town with a lot to offer

Kirk Yetholm is a lovely borders village,.
Kirk Yetholm is a lovely borders village,. We were lucky to see The Ride Out for children and then there were competitions in a field for horse and rider, was well attended. Visited the excellent heritage centre in the village, very informative and free, yes I did make a donation it was worth it. Also visited the community shop and made some purchases, again another lovely venture and hopefully well supported. Plough Hotel where we stayed was lovely, had a super room, staff really friendly and helpful, got the impression the pub was very well supported by the locals, it was dominos competition night the Sunday we stayed. Lovely dinner and breakfast. Sorry we couldn't stay longer but we were doing St Cuthberts' walk.

Love the scenery, and quirkiness of the hotel. Room was so peaceful and exceptionally warm (so much so, that I was praying the heating wouldn't come on during the night). Room was clean. Bedding was spotless. Food was lovely although they didn't have our 1st or 2nd choice from the menu (not a problem as quiet season so maybe not fully stocked up and we eat anything!!). Scottish breakfast was very good.
Location was excellent, Claire (proprietor) very friendly and helpful. Hearty breakfast with homemade preserves. Close to Border Hotel serving tasty meals at a fair price. Room and shower were spacious, and the bed linen/coverings top quality.
Kirk Yetholm and the end of the Pennine Way. This is a great way to end the day. Warm and welcoming hosts and superb accomodation. Amazing rooms and lounge and breakfast room. Home cooked locally sourced breakfast was superb.
It was a struggle to find a room in holiday season. The owner was great about fitting us in. It is a genuine country hotel, in a charming village. Food was good, people were friendly and good value for money.
