Beautiful view from restaurant and free breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean. Front desk was very helpful. Great amenities which we didn’t use but I think you had to pay for the pool etc. Free parking and close to several coastal towns

Aberdour Hotel, Stables Rooms & Beer Garden, hotel in Kinghorn

A friendly, family-run hotel located in one of Fife's picturesque coastal villages, specializing in fresh fare, using local Scottish produce where possible.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I found Scottish people to be very friendly. They engaged with the children as well. I know that the intent was to keep the original charm of the property as best they could. There were some quirky things about the room. No big deal.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they were able to register us and give us a room (we expected to just leave our luggage). The room was comfortable and the bed was excellent. Breakfasts were more than we expected and delicious.

Kingswood Hotel, hotel in Kinghorn

This beautiful, independently owned, country hotel, nestled in 2 acres of gardens and woodlands, features stunning panoramic views across the Firth of Forth and houses one of the area's best...

What a nice "country" hotel, conveniently located, with abundant parking and a view across the road to the Firth of Forth. No cookie cutter guest rooms, and some elegant public spaces. Breakfast was terrific, in a beautiful purple dining room. And, the gentleman behind the reception desk in the evening and the next morning, and who helped at breakfast too, couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming.

This is a well-run, tastefully decorated and friendly place to stay. It's very close to the beach and only 1/2 kilometer from the village shops. There is a bus stop right out front. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant onsite, and food is delicious. The chef is excellent. I would highly recommend it. Also, there was laundry service available, which was highly convenient.

It is a charming costal village.

It is a charming costal village. It is quite small and businesses (restaurants, shops) are not opened all day long, but one must only inquire about their opening times (for example the local Fish and Chips shop is opened from 17.00 till 20.00). If interested in fresh air and walking on the beach or the costal path it is a very good choice for a holiday. It is also well conected to other tourist attractions by train and bus (ex. by train: Kinghorn to Edinburgh City -1 hour;. Kinghorn to Dundee - 1 hour; Kinhorn to Aberdour - 20 min // ex. by train and tram: Kinghorn to Edinburgh Airport - 1 hour)

Kinghorn is a small village not much to do, has a railway station ideal for travel to Edinburgh, just turn right out of the bay hotel and you (or catch a bus)can get to Burntisland a larger town with more to do, more shops. It's about a half hour walk

We so enjoyed our stay, that we asked the lovely girl at reception, if we could stay for another night. Unfortunately there was a pool competition, which meant that the whole hotel was already booked! We seriously would have stayed for another two nights if it had been available. When we both ordered steaks one night, mine, rare/ blue, and my partner's, rare, I truly was not hopeful, most chefs do not cook steaks that much to order, unless you are in a five star hotel. However, we were absolutely delighted, we asked to speak with the chef! He was charming, what a wonderful stay, we so wish that we could have booked another two nights! Sorry to repeat my words, but an amazing place! Kind Regards Christina

Kinghorn has a few shops that are fine for basics.

Kinghorn has a few shops that are fine for basics. Also a beach that looks to be lovely in summer. Easy to get a train to Edinburgh, bus to Kirkcaldy or Burntisland, which also has a beach, indoor swimming pool, play facilities on The Links, and a summer fair

We were only there for one night on our trip north.

We were only there for one night on our trip north. But it looked like a great base for excursions to St. Andrews or the surrounding area. We had a walk to the harbour, which was nice and nipped into Burntisland. Kinghorn itself does not offer too much attraction, but if you travel by car it is a nice base for trips.

It is a very quiet place in October.

It is a very quiet place in October. It was windy chilly and cloudy. But the sun showed up almost everyday. There is both bus and train for one to explore the area. I did not face any problem to book a taxi by an app. There is a sea beach and many other sea beaches to explore. One can just come here for a rest or just can go on walking along the fife trail
