Copthorne Hotel Newcastle, hotel in Jesmond

Overlooking the River Tyne, the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle is located less than a mile from Newcastle Train Station. It offers an on-site fitness room.

The room was on the third floor and looked out over the river Tyne sitting in the Two armchairs and a coffee table placed in the bay window. There were two small opening windows at the top for ventilation. The car park is multi storey and attached to the hotel. It costs £10 a day and you can come and go as often as you wish. The small gym with free weights and assorted machines was a welcome addition. Note there are trains running on the bridges. I the slight rumble didn’t bother us but some may find it disturbing.

Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, hotel in Jesmond

This 4-star hotel looks out over the River Tyne and the Quayside to Newcastle city centre. It has modern, air-conditioned rooms and a health club with gym and indoor pool.

By far the best hotel I’ve stayed in. The executive double room genuinely blew us away. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 110% will be staying there whenever I’m in Newcastle! Staff deserve a raise because they are doing the Hilton name proud.

Jesmond is a lively place with pubs and places to eat.

Jesmond is a lively place with pubs and places to eat. The property we stayed in is to the south end of Jesmond in Sandyford which is like Jesmond used to be. Really quiet with a few cool places to eat within 1 minute. One of the best coffee shops and brunch places in Newcastle (Aidans). The start of Jesmond Dene is also here at the Heaton end and great for running or walking all of the way through. From Sandyford you are in a great position to enjoy the bars in Newcastle, Jesmond and down to the Ouseburn. For families, Ouseburn and Jesmond Dene have animals and cafes. Our favourite is always the many beaches. Don’t forget the South beaches. Try Seaham and look for its famous sea glass, spot seals and breakfast in the Lamp Room.
