The B&B is lovely, super close to the center of Wigtown so you can explore all the bookshops around. The rooms are themed and so well thought through.
The breakfast is delicious and you can pick what you want. The hosts will give you recommendations and are up for a chat - which is amazing!
You'll need a car to get by and you best book your dinners ahead to make sure you know where you're going as it's a quiet area, but amazing to exlore the coast and/or Galloway Forest Park.
Well worth the journey. The roads were so quiet and the scenery was breathtaking. We enjoyed a lovely meal at The Steampacket; my starter was exceptional. They brew their own beer, Five Kings, and my husband can’t stop telling everyone how good it was. We enjoyed a live music night and the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly.

Beautiful place and friendly people.
Beautiful place and friendly people. The scenery is breathtaking, there are historical places to visit nearby such as St Ninians chapel in the Isle, plus Sorbie Tower nearby or Garlieston which has a little room dedicated to the preparations made there for the WW2 Normandy landings. We are at both the Steampacket Inn and also St Ninians tearooms and both places were great. And we saw hares and seals, plus loads of birds. It's a blessed place

Great place and excellent staff. Dinner was very good and also breakfast.
Room and bed were excellent. No traffic outside and had by far my best sleep of the whole trip. Room overlooked the bay, Very good bar as well.
Dead end road, any farther and you'll be in the sea!

The Steam Packet Inn is the harbour-side hub of the village with it's bar and restaurant, complimenting the community shop/café along the main street which sells home baking, art and essentials/groceries.
The Isle is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful coastline and villages of Wigtownshire by car (or bike), and there is a limited bus service which links with places like Garlieston (another lovely harbour village), Whithorn and Wigtown with it's shops, cafés and historical buildings. The bus also links with Newton Stewart and Stranraer.
