Inkpen is a lovely area in the countryside. It is great if you want to get some peace and quiet but not so great if you want to walk to facilities. It is a good area if you want to explore both Berkshire and Wiltshire as it is close to the border of both shires.

There was THE BEST chinese I have ever eaten just across the road from where we stayed . . it was great value for money and the food was fabulous . . I can';t recommend it enough. Inkpen is very easy to get around too with great transport links and the BORIS bike type places a plenty. Not much bad to say to be honest!!

This was a great place for a stopover, with good food, very friendly service (they let you taste the beer before choosing one!) and a comfortable room. What we saw of the surrounding countryside was delightful, Hungerford had an interesting and quirky high street. Great for an overnight stay and probably for a weekend break also.

As we were only there overnight we did not really have the time to explore properly, but there were a group of walkers and some cyclists using the pub for a break so assume the area is very popular for those pursuits. We were visiting Hungerford so very handy. The pub has a good sized car park at the rear. They have a coffee shop on site which is obviously a big draw.

The room was very warm and difficult to reduce temperature.

The room was very warm and difficult to reduce temperature. The wardrobe and reception area of the room had lights that were not functioning making it difficult when entering in the dark. No one accessed the room to replenish water and toiletries. We really enjoyed the area . We ate mainly in the restaurant. We could not fault the service and food. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
