Beautiful 16th Century property. Host very helpful, arrived earlier than expected and welcomed us in, offered hot drinks but we said we had bought some fizz to drink whilst getting ready to go to a wedding nearby, came up to our rooms with champagne glasses for us. Everything you need was available (iron, hairdryer, extra blanket, fan, lots of towels, tea/coffee facilities with fresh milk in a flask not horid UTH cartons) Rooms were bright and large with views of the countryside. Breakfast were cooked to order, all fresh with a selection of fresh fruit and locally made muesli, all types of other cereal. Very close to airport and our wedding venue .
Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel & Spa Bournemouth was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It offers 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.

Hotel was easy enough to find using Satnav. Friendly welcome and easy check in. We were given a thermos flask with fresh milk for teas and coffees (real coffee in a tin with coffee pot) in the room. The twin room was clean and pleasantly decorated. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water.
We had the full English breakfast which was very good but we could have our pick off the breakfast menu which had a good variety of different dishes. The sourdough toast with proper butter was a nice touch.
Had a lovely chat with Amanda the manageress who was very friendly and informative. Would happily stay here again and would look to stay at other boutique hotels in the Butcombe Pubs and Inns group.

We only used it as a stop over before an early morning flight so didn't really venture far to see more of the area
However have visited the nearby New Forest plenty of times which is absolutely beautiful.

Loved the circular riverside walk, straight from Heronshaw House. Nice on a hot day and great for dogs, one splash about area during the walk, and a decent length of walk. Think it was around an hour, including stops to take photos. Despite being close to the airport you rarely heard any aircraft noise. A hidden gem, yet only a short drive to all local amenities. The walk is easy and flat. So if you want a relaxing and peaceful break you will not be disappointed, without being cut off should you want more. A half hour drive to the Cliffhouse, at Barton on Sea, for some fabulous food, with lovely views looking over to the Isle of White and Hengistbury Head. The New Forest also only half hours drive away.
The place and the owners exceeded all my expectations by far! The house is very cozy, clean and quiet. The mattress is something else. It’s like sleeping in the clouds! I’m used to staying at 5 star hotels for work and I can tell i have never slept so well in my life like i did here. But what touched me the most was the hospitality and kindness of the owners. A big thank you to them. Very well done!
Breakfast was very well presented and very enjoyable. Our host was thoughtful and attentive. Lovely rural surroundings. Our room was very well provided with extras we often haven't found in hotels e.g. bedroom tissues, fresh milk provided in a thermos to preserve its freshness. A bin with a sensibly sized plastic liner - so often in other hotels the liner is too small, plenty of power sockets.
Location and all the facilities were perfect for a last minute break for our family. It was close to the beach and so much better than a hotel -we got to sit outside in the sunshine and have a bbq and the room had everything we needed.
The host came out to greet us and was very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful location we would certainly recommend and visit again. Thank you
Location, very quiet and pretty. Lovely greeting by owner. Beautiful house and decor. Felt like a hotel. Clean and tidy. Exceeded our expectations. Only thing, please could we have some biscuits with tea/coffee facilities would have been nice with our morning cuppa. Thank you so much, will definitely recommend this accommodation.
The location was perfect for access to the New Forest , Bournemouth & Poole and the airport. The Chalet was amazingly clean , comfortable and well equipped ; Perfect for short breaks.
