Breakfast was very good as was our evening meal. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. Very nice bedroom and comfy bed. Car park had electric charging points which meant we could charge overnight.

Beautiful setting, really peaceful. Easy check in. Excellent communication. Directions provided before arrival were very useful. It was great to have access to a small fridge at a small extra cost. I was also able to extend my check out at a small extra charge with no fuss. I was here for a race so spent little time in the accommodation but nothing to fault really

Excellent. It was cheap. Kitchen was small but well equipped. Better than an apartment I recently stayed in which cost alot more money. Loved the fact they provided snacks/meals at a small charge. I however had food and walked to the shop which is also well supplied. The pub was unfortunately not serving food due to a wedding party. Very easy instructions on getting in. Will definitely stay again. I had the room to myself which had 3 bunks.

Hexham is a good spot for those touring in the area with bus and rail links to other counties such as the lakes and the coast. Also the main attraction of Hadrian's wall and all the Roman Forts in the area, as well as local villages.

Hexham is a great town just on the edge of Hadrians Wall. There are some good places and pubs to visit. If you get the opportunity I highly recommend Zyka Indian Restaurant for a meal, to food is out of this world and the staff are great.

Hexham has had a revival in recent years and now has plenty of things happening, local independent shops, cafes, great pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance and a small theatre. There's plenty of history here so it is worth strolling around the town learning about the past and to see some beautiful historic architecture, it is also a great base for exploring the villages and countryside of Northumberland, Cumberland and the Durham Dales plus Hadrian's Wall of course.
This is a walkers/ cyclists/ bikers paradise so if you like getting outdoors in all weathers then visit Hexham.
To experience the real Northumberland I would recommend a drive up into the Pennines to Allendale, Allenheads then into the Durham Dales to Rookhope and Blanchland- this is countryside far away from the usual tourist route, it's wild and open with big skies and so quiet. Best not to attempt this in bad weather or in wintery conditions though.

The Abbey is very good with a good exhibition on view.
We also visited a couple of eating places which were very good.
Don't go to Haltwhistle on a Wednesday afternoon, although it is the centre of Britain, it's shops mostly shut on Wednesday pm!
Oh, and be sure to pack a rain coat, the showers can be very heavy, keep an eye on the clouds,

Hexham is a wonderful town to visit.
Hexham is a wonderful town to visit. The abbey dominates the scene and should be visited. This English town faced a lot of troubles when England and Scotland were separate countries. At one time Hexhamshire liked to think of itself as being a separete entity fom the rest of North-east England.
What initially drew me to book the hotel was their candour regarding parking in Hexham. They acknowledged the problem and after the long drive i undertook all was resolved to my satisfaction. You can deposit luggage with them and go to main car park which is only about 3/4 mins walk away. From then on, my stay just got better and better. If i could, i would give them 11 o/o 10, they are that good.
Clean and cosy, the decor was lovely and just made you feel so relaxed. Susan was amazing, I had a little issue with the shower and she called round to see. She was very efficient at responding to any queries. Hexham is beautiful and this little gem is right in the heart of it.
Faultless hotel - staff professional and friendly, our room was very large and very well decorated/furnished. Bar area had a lovely atmosphere, so a perfect place to finish up after an evening out. Great value overall.
Nice hotel, comfortable rooms, lovely staff, great breakfast. Great location if you're arriving and leaving by train, and only five minutes walk to the centre of Hexham.
