Room was very good. Good furnishings and fabulous light fitting! Bed clean and comfortable. All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and professional. The building itself is amazing - grand staircase, wood carvings, stained glass, etc. We didn't have breakfast or use the spa so cannot comment.

Woodcote Hotel, hotel in Heswall

Woodcote House has individual, colorful rooms with great showers, and boasts a fantastic location for exploring Liverpool or Chester.

I wanted to give this place a top rating, but the manager was so unpleasant that I had to take it way down. I asked for a late checkout and instead of telling me no pleasantly, she gave me a lecture about running a business. Then she berated me for booking through Booking.com rather than directly with the hotel. Hmmmm--that doesn't sound right to me. I go to this area often, but next time I will stay at the Travelodge around the corner.

Very nice quaint village, that I remember going there when I was a child. Lots of lovely coffee shops and restaurants. Short drive from some of the most beautiful places on the Wirral, such as West Kirby, Parkgate and the Wirral Way. We will have no hesitation on recommending this place to our friends and will hopefully be returning on our next trip to England.

Heswall is one of the main community/shopping centres on the Wirral Peninsula. Heswall alone - or indeed any of the other settlements on the Wirral - would not occupy most people long, or even for a short-stay. But, taken together, and being well-connected by road, rail and ferry to nearby Liverpool, Chester and rural north Wales, they offer a set of remarkably interesting and contrasting destinations for a week's stay - or even longer. The locations include contrasting landscapes and seascapes, to great ranges in wealth, architecture and lifestyles of communities, and similarly varied industries and histories, and places of interest.

As we were meeting family in Heswall it was the perfect location for us. It was in the centre of the town and only a short walk to a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs. The property itself was well designed with 2 good-sized ensuite bedrooms as well as a good-sized kitchen and living area with plenty of comfortable seating.

Prior to our arrival the communication between the owner and myself was timely and extremely helpful. The Annex is everything you would need for a short stay in a central location in Heswall. It is beautifully appointed, offers total privacy and the bed is so comfortable. Highly recommend .
