As soon as we arrived, Freddie was the first person we met and he kindly helped us to park. This gave us an idea of the service to come. Everyone that we met as we went through the hotel was equally as friendly and helpful.
The room was clean, modern, very quiet and comfortable.
When we left we managed to leave a diary behind, however, I called the hotel and spoke to Kim in guest services who went above and beyond to get the information we needed from it and return it to us the next day. So very grateful to her for the outstanding customer service we received and to the housekeeping staff for rescuing it for us.
Located overlooking the city’s Roman walls, The Hampton by Hilton York is opposite York Railway Station and a 10-minute walk from the historic center.

Location ideal if visiting historical York (walking distance). The hotel is clean and modern. The rooms small but well organized and clean. We stayed in a room with a double bed and a double sofa bed. My kids slept in the sofa. It was perfect for them (they are 14 and 11 and skinny, so fit them perfectly). Breakfast was a nice convenience. The staff was very helpful and polite. The room didn't have a refrigerator (we need it for a medication that requires refrigeration), but the staff helped us by keeping it in the hotel fridge. The hotel doesn't have parking on site, but there is a very convenient parking garage less than a block away. We would stay again and 100% recommend it for families.
The 4-star Principal York, formerly The Royal York Hotel, is set in quiet gardens, with views into the new Garden Room overlooking York Minster.

The pool and leisure facilities were great, the hotel gardens were lovely and the location was brilliant despite being so close to the station we didn't hear anything. I also really liked the rainfall shower.
The overall look of the hotel was very opulent with pretty stairwells and chandeliers.
Located on the banks of the River Ouse, The Queens Hotel is ideally located for the many shops, restaurants and bars that the center of York has to offer.

We wanted a comfortable, convenient to historic York. This hotel suited our needs just fine. Breakfast was a plus and was very tasty!
Ideally located, family-run Wheatland Lodge Hotel offers good value accommodations, just a 5-minute walk from York Train Station and a 10-minute walk from York's historic center.

Perfect location for sightseeing, just a few minutes walk to York Minster. Hotel has its own car park with plenty of spaces (paid a small parking fee which is waived if you book directly through the hotel). Beds very comfortable and room was clean. Staff couldn’t have been any nicer. Great choice of buffet and/or cooked Breakfast.
