Excellent location and accommodation, friendly owner ensuring we were happy with the accommodation and WiFi and games room available. The accommodation was very clean and homely, access to free Netflix and very warm throughout. If in area we would return, excellent for the price.

It's full of great restaurants and pubs/bars.
It's full of great restaurants and pubs/bars. There's an excellent theatre/cinema called Beam. It's situated on three rivers and on the old coaching route between London and Cambridge so the environment and architecture are beautiful and historic so well worth exploring. There's even a castle where Elizabeth I visited. Plus a great leisure centre and Hartham Park.
If you like nightlife - that's also great with clubs, bars, a Pool club and friendly pubs.

It was beautiful enough to make you think you was away far away, the views were amazing and to have the animals walking around just made it. The shops are close too! Highly recommend carlys fish shop, absolutely spot on.

Great location If you want to sleep somewhere after a night out then this is ok - its expensive , the pillows were bad , the shower was a poor trickle and it was v noisy (but we had been warned about the noise and nothing earplugs dont solve). reserve your own table if you want breakfast as they dont reserve any for guests - we left when told we were sitting at the actual bar (thought they meant bar area when they called )

Seemed like a nice town, plenty of bars and restaurants, including a rather upmarket Wetherspoons !
Be careful if you park in the large council car park, behind the Main Street. I parked overnight, and got a fine the next day. Instructions misleading. I am appealing !

The Salisbury Arms is a great place to stay. The hotel has been recently refurbished and the rooms are clean and comfortable, with good showers in a separate en suite. I particularly liked the little bottles of milk in place of the usual small cartons, with extra supplies freely available in the Butler's Pantry on each floor. As always, though, the main praise must go to the staff, who are universally pleasant, efficient and generally super.
Beautiful location in the hills above Hertford.
Very luxuriously appointed.
Quiet private grounds surround the property.
Excellent communication and local information provided by host. Very comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen.
good size room overlooking the bee hives on the roof. the hotel is set in a lovely square in the middle of Hertford, which is a proper suntrap in the summer. breakfast was included and was so nice, especially the hash browns!!
