The hotel is superbly located, just off junction 23 of the M6 motorway, next to Haydock Park Racecourse, and serves as a gateway to the entire North West region.

We stay here every year on our return trip home . It’s clean , basic accomadation . The staff are really lovely and the location is good .
This 4-star luxury hotel and spa is set in a Georgian mansion style building surrounded by attractive landscaped gardens. Liverpool and Manchester are both 30 minutes’ drive away.
The Bay Horse is convenient for Haydock Racecourse, the M6, local train stations, and it is 9.9 mi from Manchester's Trafford Center. It offers free unlimited WiFi.
Located in Saint Helens, Mercure St Helens offers 4-star accommodations with a bar. Offering a restaurant, the property also has a fitness center, as well as an indoor pool and a sauna.

Sadly a hotel in need of serious attention the bathroom smelt of sewage and the windows in the room are drafty and let in road noise.
The breakfast was really high quality and bed supper comfortable but useless whilst insufficient insulation of obvious road noise
Table lamp not working
On a personal dislike laminated floors and not even a rug
Very basic

We enjoyed free use of a lovely swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Both the hotel and leisure facilities are spotlessly clean and well managed. The park surroundings are lovely and create a nice barrier to the roads although they aren’t far away. Altogether a very nice hotel with a pleasant family atmosphere.

Right beside the East Lancs road and very convenient for Haydock Racecourse, Wigan, St. Helens or Warrington. I'm a rugby league fan so this place is perfect when travelling to see games in the area.

Large rooms , swimming pool and spar good , some rooms that face the back can be noisy due to wedding venues, breakfast ok , busy on haydock race days , bar is always under staffed and can be long waites for drinks , especially when weddings on.

The hotel is actually nearer Ashton in Makerfield than Haydock, however perfect for the racecourse and short drive off the M6, very easy to find. I wasn't visiting for sightseeing but visiting family for a celebration so am familiar with the local areas. J23 of the M6 offers convenient links to liverpool/manchester/chester etc. great base for visiting all the North West has to offer for those visiting for business and leisure purposes.

The staff was excellent, the breakfast was lovely and we had an evening meal on one night which was great. We had a drink in the bar when we got back a few times before bed.
It is in a brilliant position easy to find from the motorway. It is down the road from, Haydock races. Within easy reach of Liverpool, Manchester, Salford, Pennington Flash, Newton-le-Willows.
That wasn't far to travel too. Friendly, happy staff as (ALWAYS). Awwww keep up the good work Ibis Hotel Haydock Management's (PLUS....) Ibis Receptionists Staff and last but not least Head Chef Kitchen Department presentation spot on!! Don't let the North-West down now 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Location was right by major roads into Liverpool. We were able to check in at 1am in the morning which was great. The hotel was very clean and we enjoyed having access to the pool and gym facilities.
Beautiful service at a lovely hotel.
The staff were exceptional and the greeting was made even more impressive with an upgrade . The hotel has a beautiful dining area in amazing surroundings.
