Helpful staff and our family room was very good, clean and spacious. Nice outside areas for sitting enjoying the views. Large car park across the road as well. The breakfast was very good indeed, freshly prepared good quality produce, served by a very nice waiter who was very cheery and helpful.

A great base for exploring the Peak District and there are good bus links to Bakewell and Sheffield. I recommend The Bank House for a great Sunday lunch. There is a small fish & chip shop next door to The Bank House which does very good fish and chips but pay with cash if you can. Maazi's Indian Restaurant does decent Indian food but we found the staff there very stand off-ish. The local pubs promote the beers of local breweries such as Eyam. There is a good mix of locals and tourists / walkers. We spent a long weekend there and it was perfect.

Great place for walking and relaxing in a small quiet village. Enjoyed a lovely walk to the church to see where Little John was laid to rest and soak up the surrounding views, which in late autumn were very colourful. A tranquil place that would suit any visitor. Missed the outdoor swimming pool, a must for next time!

You can get there on the train and there is everything you need for a weekend of walking, with a range of easy or more challenging circular walks. There is a choice of places to eat as well as shops to get supplies. The David Mellor factory/museum is also within walking distance.

It is a lovely place for walking.
It is a lovely place for walking. I could only manage a short walk through Fairy Woods, but it was definitely worth it - even just to walk through the whimsical doorway that leads over the stream. Do pack shoes that you don't mind getting muddy though! Castleton with it's caverns is only a few minutes drive away too.

it's the UK, so don't count on the weather. But rain, mist, sunshine or just a light drizzle, it's beautiful in every situation. Perfect for walkers but come prepared for weather. Never far from a small town. Just watch out for buses as don't have a very good or reliable timetable after 5pm.

Our bedroom and bathroom at Little John Hotel were very generously sized and had obviously been modernised and redecorated - we enjoyed all the extra space after some rather cramped accommodation elsewhere!
The buffet breakfast offered cooked and cold options and was a great way to start to the day!
Stunning barn conversion, easy walking distance from Hathersage but feels like being in the country side. The house is bright, spacious, comfortable, clean and with amazing views. The hosts left a lovely welcome pack on arrival.
The accommodation was external to the main body of the hotel and so disruption from other patrons was minimised. Although the external wall was on the roadside, the traffic noise was not noticeable
