Nothing as the hotel could not provide facilities for my disabled husband. No low floor or lift only stairs. No face to face contact had to use phone.

This house has pretty much everything you could ask for! Its spacious, has lots of different areas, lots of facilities, its comfortable, clean, well laid out, it has sea views in 3 out of the 4 bedrooms, 2 sitting room areas, a fab games room with pool table, and the kitchen is great! You can also park right outside the house, and the seafront location is spot on- you can go right to the harbour, or left to the more sandy beach side... And it was in a lovely location overall... We are definitely booking again!! And the best bit is we can bring our little dog with us for beach days! 🐶🐾🙂

A bit biased because I grew up there and left in 1988 but the town has changed a great deal over the years. The are around the Marina is the jewel in the crown with the Navy Museum and historic ships. the walk down to Seaton Carew is also to be recommended as well as the Headland. The town itself is the same as any other. This is also a good base for exploring further up and down the coast.

The delightful secret of Hartlepool lies outside the town, on the Headland, which is where the original town lies. Beautiful Victorian villas, bright and breezy promenade, terrific fish-and-chip shop with queues outside the doors, and a fascinating parish church.

The Navy Museum at the marina was amazing - interesting and you could easily spend a whole day there. There are some beautiful old churches and streets to wander down, whilst Victoria Park and and Ward Jackson park are well worth a visit.

Overall pleasantly surprised.
Overall pleasantly surprised. Has many of the same problems that you find in the North, ie, abandoned buildings, closed down shops, but thats mostly in the old centre. Everybody now goes to the supermarkets and shopping parks, and these were clean and thriving.
I was not on holiday so didnt do sightseeing, but the beach at Seaton Carew was very nice.
People friendly with a good sense of humour.
Council has gone a bit mad with parking restrictions and double yellow lines everywhere, so be careful if driving.

I have known this area since childhood so have a connection as well as a fondness for Hartlepool and Seaton Carew. The Marine Hotel experience was a particular disappointment. Having now read other people's more positive experiences of the hotel I think the problem my wife and I suffered was that the hotel staff were distracted by the arrangements they were involved in for a wedding taking place during our stay. Perhaps that's why we were not provided with adequate information about their parking arrangements. Other reviewer comments seem to indicate that their rooms were better with views etc. or on the ground floor of this hotel.

Seaton Carew is an outlying village of Hartlepool. with Hartlepool itself the main town. It has an excellent maritime museum, well worth a visit and some interesting streets to wander around and observe. Be aware though that Hartlepool is divided into two distinct areas with many of the attractions are in West Hartlepool (I think it is) including further museums, the main beach and a statue of Andy Capp.
For a relaxing meal I chose to eat at the Premier Inn Marina hotel with a good view of the marina and the the museum ship
A spacious room. Great to have facilities like cooking hobs, a fridge and a microwave available in the room. The bed was comfortable and freshly made. Lots of hanging space for clothes. Bathroom was clean with an easy-to-use shower. Location was very handy. Only a quarter of a mile away from the train station. The marina is also within easy access. I was attending a gig at The Studio which is only a very short walk (2-3 minutes) from the venue.
The location a stone's throw from the beach is excellent however make sure you realise that this guest house is in Seaton Carew and not Hartlepool as the site confusingly states.
This is budget accommodation done well, the rooms and communal areas are well presented in excellent decorative order and very clean.
The welcome was warm and friendly.
The shared bathrooms were very clean and functioned well
