The room was stunning. Our view was onto another building but it wasn't about that, the design, facilities and comfort of the room were stunning, we were blown away. The small touches like the dog bowls (even though we didn't have a dog with us, we are dog lovers and noticed them), the power show (wow!), the bed, just everything :)

The location was excellent for the reason of our trip to meet with friends. The evening meals were very good with a good choice on the menu, but I was very dissatisfied with the English breakfast on the first morning as It was very greasy and left most of it, the second morning I chose poached eggs but sadly these were over cooked.

Beautiful property especially in the snow! Room as warm which was amazing for in the snow. Staff were really lovely and there were spaces for us to be together as a big group of 8 without disturbing others.

We were met by Chris ( the manager), and we mentioned to him that we first stayed at the Izzak Walton Hotel in 1993 and this was an anniversary trip to celebrate this. Chris could not do enough to make our stay very special. We have to say the whole team were exceptional in how they looked after us during our stay here. Also a special mention to Salim who looked after us during breakfast 👍👏. The hotel is in a perfect location for some beautiful walks and a great place to get away for some quiet time. We'll done to the whole team 👍👏 from Danielle and John.

Nice popular village with lots of walks in the area and a few you can do right from your door.
It also has 2 good pubs both of which do nice food (booking very muchrecommended). The village shop is excellent and seems to sell almost anything you could need.
The baps (I'd call them cobs being from Leics) are particularly nice and good value.

Very pleasant small village, perhaps a bit "touristy", but not surprising considering its location. Small and very easy to walk round. Free street parking in centre, but I think there is a pay parking area. Two pubs/hotels. We avoided the Charles Cotton due to our experience on a previous visit. Enjoyed the other one, but can't remember its name. Pleasant small cafe, which is also local Post Office - lovely ice cream!! Well-stocked village shop.

I have always liked Hartington I have no problem with the place just the accommodation but as we only stayed for one night and the weather was appalling we didn’t go around the village this time .
We love the cafe and the cheese shop

This was a fabulous cottage that was perfect for a family get away. The two bedrooms and bathrooms were decent sizes and the downstairs kitchen / living area was great. The views were lovely and it’s very handy for our favourite parts of The Peaks, especially Hartington, Mill Dale and Beresford Dale. We loved our stay.
The property was exceptionally clean. It was central to Ashbourne, Hartington, Buxton and Bakewell. The owner went out of their way to add additional extras to make our stay extra comfortable.
