We come to visit relatives but we always find the shopping excellent, and the train connection from Harpenden to London is easy and fast. The apartment we stayed in is fairly close to the train station. There are plenty of choices for groceries. It is a small town but very walkable with some nice parks. A bus or the train will get you to St. Alban's and the Cathedral, museums and parks there.

Harpenden is a small little town with tons of restaurant options. The suburban atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings make this a perfect place to live. Super close to Luton Airport and from London.

Harpenden is a town that would appeal to a variety of people as it is diverse. Even though it is lively and busy in the evenings, it feels safe. There is an excellent choice of restaurants and a variety of outdoor spaces as well as shops. Zaza's Italian restaurant is central and a superb place to eat with a lovely atmosphere; also, The Old Cock Inn provides excellent service, food and accommodation for everyone, including families.

I've been going to Harpenden for many years as i have family that live there.
It's one of the nicest towns I've been to.
Free Parking is limited but there is paid parking just a short walk from the High Street.
There is an abundance of restaurants and pubs to fit all budgets.
There is shopping to be done in Harpenden but if you don't find what you want, St. Albans is a short 10-15 minute drive where you will find "the maltings" - It's an outdoor shopping centre but there are plenty of shops to find what you need.
we arrived Friday afternoon and was able to park in car park 200 metres from the old cock inn, only having to pay £4.20
this was good as to park in car park is free T weekends as pub has no parking
the room was very clean the bed really comfortable
The room was nice but the radiator made a lot of noise also the bins outside were emptied at 0420. Which I know is out of the control of the hotel but still made for broken sleep.!
Tony was extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was any trouble to him. Thank you Tony. Knowing Harpenden as we do, having family there, made the visit all the more special.
The location was great as we had an event in Harpenden and it was a 2 minute walk.
We could park outside (limited to 2 spaces so we were lucky)
The beds were comfortable.
