It’s a beautiful property. The grounds were gorgeous. Came here during the holidays but we did not purchase their Christmas package. The staff in bar area was excellent.

Guildford is a beautiful, quiet, and clean city, home to one of the top universities, the University of Surrey. For those seeking relaxation and recreation, Guildford is an ideal destination to visit and stay for a few weeks. It is conveniently close to London and has a fast train connection to the city.

Historic market town centre with castle and grounds plus several old buildings of historical interest around the town. It's also close to the Watts Gallery and chapel which are well worth a day's visit. There are pubs and walks along the riverside right on the edge of town.

I visited the Watts Gallery & Artists Village including Mary Watts chapel. It's near the village of Compton. Took bus No.46 from Bus Station (stand 5) leaving at 10:15am. The place opens at 10:30am and spent a great four hours there. Check out official website, especially if interested in 19th century English arts & crafts movement.
Guildford town centre has lots of alley ways off the very long High Street that were interesting to explore; varied restaurants, bars and shopping.

I was there for business, not as a tourist, so cannot comment in detail. The traffic can be very troublesome. The property where I stayed was outside the main town centre, which would cause me to choose it again.

Firstly, Guildford is a very busy little town, with a dual carriageway splitting the place in two. The cathedral is definitely worth a visit, stunning architecture and views of the surrounding area. Lots of choice for dining and drinking. If you like a trad pub with good choice of beer and live music, then try the Star on Quarry Street. Recommended.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Guildford
We booked the hotel whilst travelling to Guildford in the evening. Between 9 and 9:30pm we got an email saying if we arrive after 10:30pm we need to advise them. We did not see it as we were in the car. We arrived at 10:55; the pub, the hotel were all closed and there was no staff, no reply to knocking on the door, no reply to telephone. So we paid over £100 for nothing but stayed at the travel lodge nearby for £32. Suggest others do the same.
Nice welcome - I was even shown to my room by the lady at reception. The room was huge, beautifully made up, and had everything I needed. Nice big shower and, despite being just across the hall from the bar, the double door meant it was very quiet during the night. Great location right in the centre of the shopping district of Guildford. Being able to see the really old parts of the hotel was also pretty cool - what a history it must have had!
Every time I need to travel to Guildford, I always choose the Holiday Inn. The atmosphere at this place is exceptional. It gives you a true British vibe. The hotel is very cozy, and the rooms are spacious and have everything you need.
It was fine, it's cheap apartment close to Guildford town centre. It could do with a bit of a refresh. It's a clean, spacious apartment which could adequately hold four people with two bathrooms and bedrooms.
