Not far off the Hadrains Wall path walk, cosy hotel with a lovely bar and restaurant. We stayed in the hostel, just over the road from the main hotel. Rooms are very clean, and a towel is also provided for each guest. Exactly what we needed for the night after a day's hard slog. Shared bathroom/toilets/showers were also clean and great. We ate in the hotel and the food was top notch. So was the service, from Charlotte, the young man behind the bar, and the other young lady who was serving. Always smiling, nothing was too much and very attentive. Breakfast again was brilliant, and the service again couldn't have been better.

We were very satisfied with the stay. The location was perfect for us - close to the station and with a nice route to Hadrian's Wall. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, food in the hotel's restaurant and the atmosphere of the place.

Beautifully kept house and bedroom. Despite an early arrival the owner offered a tray of tea and assortments. The room was made available immediately. Evening meal was from a varied choice menu, similarly with the breakfast options along with the assorted fresh fruits. There was a small bar with a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks with a Honesty box type payment
