This family-run town centre hotel was originally built in 1842 and has many historical features. Rooms are all of a high quality with en suite bathrooms and flat-screen TVs.

The Great Malvern is without a shadow of a doubt the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at; it is everything a hotel should be - and then much more.
The building itself is lovely -
traditional, timeless, beautifully carpeted in old fashioned style, cosy and homely yet with more than a touch of magnificence.
We were lucky enough to stay in The Hideaway which is a beautiful spacious self-contained apartment at the very top of the building furnished with some wonderful and sometimes unusual (loved the wardrobe with the curtain!) pieces of vintage furniture, all very well cared for. This combined with the luxury of the powerful modern shower and great TV provision made it the most comfortable and enjoyable place to unwind and relax - it really did feel like a home away from home.
The previous year was the first time we’d stayed here and the room we stayed in then was also very cosy and well appointed.
The view from the hotel is great as you can see the Malvern hills looking down high above the town, very cool indeed.
As if all this was not enough, the owners of the property Jeremy and Rani (and Beckie, Jeremy’s daughter who works there too) are just the most hospitable people, going out of their way to ensure that your stay is the best it can possibly be - for example we had said that we planned on going to the theatre one evening and they organised some discounted tickets for us, very much appreciated.
All the other staff without exception were very friendly and helpful too.
Breakfast is a treat here, a wide variety of choice to cater to every taste, plentiful and very tasty, all served by the owners and family themselves and others with the utmost politeness and friendliness.
The relaxing music played in the breakfast room also adds greatly to the experience.
The food in The Nook, the hotel’s restaurant, and in the hotel’s pub is very good too, would absolutely recommend.
The Abbey is an AA rated 4-star hotel, situated at the foot of the Malvern Hills in the Worcester countryside and is convenient for many attractions.

Plenty of choice at breakfast, but hot food soon went cold as high ceilinged room not adequately heated and also table mats were made of slate which absorbed heat out of plate.

Great Malvern is an absolute gem.
Great Malvern is an absolute gem. We had never visited before and were delighted with the countryside and Malvern Hills. The views are amazing. The town has a charm and seems away from the hustle and bustle of some other places we have been.
We visited a National Trust estate, Croome Park which is fairly close by which was beautiful and well worth a visit.
The town itself has quite a few independent cafes and shops so nice to confined to the usual choice of cafe chains etc.

If you are a walker or hiker then this is a perfect place to stay. Town itself is small and not much open on a Sunday but there are some lovely eateries/restaurants. Malvern flea market at the show ground is a great place to pick up bargains but arrive early!

We only visited the town briefly as we were in the area to walk but the priory is beautiful and an extremely interesting and intact survivor of the Middle Ages. The situation is beautiful but probably not for the unfit being on a steep hillside.

We loved Great Malvern, we visited Worcester for cricket also visited Elgars House. In Great Malvern we did a lot of walking on the hills. We were very lucky with the weather and therefore this added to the walking experience. The village is very hilly which could be difficult for people with accessabiluty issues. There are lots of cafes, we can recommend Abbey Road cafe and the cafe by the information center. We ate meals in our accommodation, Waitrose is very handy.
The hotel lies in a beautiful location in Greater Malvern and it is in an ideal spot for anyone wanting to access the hills. We stayed in the Bishop Suite and the accommodation was extremely comfortable and spacious with great views over the well maintained gardens. A number of bars and restaurants were only a short walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious.
Hotel was in a great location, minutes walk from the footpaths to the hills. Very dog friendly, and plenty of parking. Very comfortable bed and lovely big bathroom with bath and shower.
The owner of the hotel Jeremy, and all the staff were very friendly and thoughtful. The bathroom was brand new and the bed linen was super. We were v lucky in that we got a parking space.
Lovely large room.
Booked in for Dinner on the evening which was very nice and breakfast was good too.
Smooth check in/out
Ample parking at the back of the hotel
