The staff make this hotel exceptional. Peter, and Kay are amazing people who made me feel welcome and valued and nothing was too much trouble.. perfect for a solo traveler spending the week at the hotel. Even the night porter Dan! Offered me a coffee for my early morning, long journey home.

At our arrival, we were welcomed by a very kind and friendly lady who showed us the room and gave all the information we needed about Gravesend.
The room I got was large (with two windows!); the bathroom was also large and practical. The bed is fluffy, and so are the bathroom towels—I believe I've never seen the towels so fluffy!

Marstons are great because you know exactly what you'll get and they are great value for money. We were just there for a couple of nights and it was clean, comfortable, nice big room, convenient pub/restaurant and small grocery store up the road. We even used the local train station to get into London!

Small town on the Thames with a lot of independent shops -- so less generic than many town centres.
Famous as the burial place of Pocahontas (there is a statue).
The railway is on the Southeastern High Speed route -- 23 minutes to London St Pancras. There are also southeastern trains to London Bridge, Waterloo East and Charing Cross, in about an hour, and Thameslink trains direct to Blackfriars, the City and Luton Airport.

Gravesend is a quite town on the Thames Estuary with a park and a promenade. Buses go to Chatham where there is a big Bus station. Can get buses going all over Kent. Also buses to Dartford and Bexleyheath. Trains to London take 1 hour. April has an Indian Festival. Also St Georges festival. Fireworks in November.

Gravesend has deteriorated over the years.
Gravesend has deteriorated over the years. It is not worth visiting. The restaurants are few and far. I can recommend a superb local pub named the Compass: great beer and great company. Gravesend is not worth visiting (unfortunately). The last time I was there wad 1982 and it was a thriving market town but now …

Gravesend is a typical declining British town.
Gravesend is a typical declining British town. The high Street is poor, there are 2 shopping centres that you can go round in literally 5 minutes. If it wasn't for the fact that we have family connections there, we wouldn't bother with the place.

This is our third overnight stay at this hotel and as per previous stops, was just as perfect in every way. Great location when travelling through Kent. Clean, comfortable with brilliant insulation and double glazing ensuring a quiet peaceful night. Marvellous food to be had at the adjoining restaurant at reasonable prices.
This place is a house not hotel. They do not supply breakfast, but lovely comfortable beds. Coffee milk and sugar supplied.
A convenience store just round corner. Also fish and chip shop. Across the street is a Chinese Take away. Buses stop outside for Gravesend town or Dartford town.
Stayed for one night as I had an Interview in the area the following morning. Receptionist had her first day and was really nice and friendly. The Hotel has a lot of charm as It's quite an old building I would guess. Nice Food in the Bar / Restaurant downstairs.
Clean room, well appointed including microwave and fridge, en suite shower room, handy for the centre of town, bed comfy enough, complimentary tea and coffee, quiet, reasonable size single room. Would use again.
