This is a lovely old building in a good location. The staff were amazing - exceptionally kind and responsive. The food from the restaurant was excellent. Although there were a lot of dogs staying in the hotel - there was no ‘doggy’ smell and all were well behaved.

When you see the pictures of the outside, it creates a very upscale impression, but the rooms do not meet that expectation.
The bathroom is tiny and the room itself is smaller than a typical hotel room. The room is clear and staff were pleasant. Housekeeping staff were very eager to help. Room was clean but the furnishings were dated. Overall impression was old and tired. Lobby area was nice and had gas fireplaces, but was also dated. Breakfast was very nice. Buffet set up, and they bring a pot or coffee or tea to the table. Good selection of breakfast items but little variation day to day. We had dinner there the first night. Would not recommend. It is over priced compared to options in town, which are a short walk away.

The beds / bathroom were clean, there were other spaces to hang out in and have a drink. The dining room was nice, seems recently redone. Breakfast was nice. Super friendly and helpful staff.

A basic room but very clean and well appointed, very quirky as due to subsidence, my corner room had a slight slope with a door at an odd angle, I thought it was great. I had a very comfortable stay.
