Lovely pub in a rural area, the room we stayed in was a separate building to the pub and restaurant.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Check in and check out was very quick and easy.
We had an evening meal in the pub area, very delicious steak. With lots of different steak options on the menu.
The room was small but cosy. Tea, coffee & milk provided with a kettle and some biscuits.
The bed was comfy. And there was a small TV in the room. Our bathroom was across the hall from our room.
My partner rates the power of the shower, he said one of the best showers in a hotel he has used. I couldn't get the hot/cold ratio right. It seems it is best to get the correct temperature whilst the tap is running and then turn the shower on.
There is a covered outdoor area, for Al fresco dining. A great park area for children and plenty of parking.
Pound Corner is powered by 100% renewable sources , supported by solar panels and an air source heat pump.

It's a great place to stay for easy access to Guildford / the University of Surrey and a very short drive to Godalming (which is a lovely little town). It feels very well cared for, everything is clean and tidy and kitchen well equipped. It was perfect for what we wanted. There is a parking space too which is handy.
Set in a contemporary glass-fronted building, this 4-star hotel is 1 minutes’ walk from the cobbled High Street of Guildford.

The staff were extremely helpful and even offered to make me a cuppa. They took myself and luggage to the room and showed me where everything was. 10/10🤗 I loved the quirky deco and the wall hangings.

Nice town, which we'd not visited for nearly 50 years - the first, apparently, to be lit by electric light (1881). It's a super high street, and there's a nice riverside park with a colonnade dedicated to Jack Phillips, who was the wireless operator on the Titanic. He also gives his name to the town's Wetherspoons! The Surrey Hills countryside around Godalming is really lovely too.

I wasn’t coming for pleasure so had dinner in the hotel both nights. Just 3 parking spaces ludicrous. However, public car park free after 6.30pm right through Sunday. But as I had arrived on Friday it would have cost more into Saturday morning. The room 104 was small and over the kitchen air con units. On the plus side, short corridor outside and no upper storey so blissfully quiet. Would have preferred a bath.

Godalming is an attractive small town on the edge of the Surrey Hills. We’re regular visitors, our daughter and family live there. The area around the high street has some good shops, nice restaurants, pubs and it seems like there’s a new coffee shop opening each week.

An interesting little town that has retained much of its character despite morphing into another notch in the London commuter belt. The centre has some good independent shops. The park has a poignant memorial to the radio operator on the Titanic. The meadows next to the Wey navigation offer pleasant walks. The woods at Winkworth arboretum are spectacular all year round. Road and rail links to London and the south coast are very good.

The hotel was interesting , lots character, staff caring and he helpful in a difficult situation
With no water , heating , of food, they did there best to make my visit a happy one , it was a lovely room.
I have stayed here before. I like how quaint the building is. It has a powerful sense of the past and conveys some of the long history of Godalming, which is listed in the Doomsday Book. I like the way the Royal Hotel takes advantage of the fact that Czar Peter the Great stayed there, even having a special nook in the pub commemorating that visit. The rooms, however, are up-to-date and comfortable. Even though it is on the main street, it is very quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is delicious.
Great hotel. Every hotel member i spoke to very polite and helpful. Room very comfortable and easy to get good sleep on double bed. For breakfast the scrambled eggs were i think the best i have ever had!
Nice new-ish looking carpet in the room. One of the cheaper places to stay walkable to Godalming town center. TV in room and kettle with usual tea / coffee.
Lovely 17th century pub / restaurant/ hotel. Room was spacious and comfortable. Evening meals were excellent. Couple of local real ales which were lovely.
