I never went to Glasbury as The River Cafe no longer operates snd although my payment was taken, but my booking was.never made. Do not book this place on Booking.com as it does not exist any more. I am waiting for my refund. I am so disappointed with Booking.com as they don’t listen when I tell them that The River cafe does not operate any more. I know this because the former owner contacted me when they got my booking through Booking.com.

A very nice hotel in a quiet location near Hay on Wye.
A very nice hotel in a quiet location near Hay on Wye. Breakfast was very good and the rooms were comfortable and of a high specification. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking on site.
The room (Otter) and en suite were spotless, comfortable, and ideal for my two night stay. The balcony view onto the river was a nice bonus (photo). I thought the fresh milk in the mini fridge was a lovely touch. Geraldine dropped by a couple of times and was delightful. There is a lovely little circular walk by the river on the other side of the bridge. From there, you can see the light blue property (photo). Add another 200 yards, and you can find yourself in the bar at Foyles of Glasbury!
Booked this hotel as a base for exploring the bookshops in Hay-on-Wye. It was just a five minute drive, so great location. Beautiful views from the pub and garden. We had an evening meal, which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Lush breakfast in the morning. Really friendly and helpful staff. The price we paid for two of us, in a twin room, with breakfast and location, was brilliant. Will defo be back if we venture this way again. Thanks guys. 😁
Cwmbach Lodge is exceptional - I stay in a lot of different hotels and b&bs for work and pleasure and this is the first time I can say a place was truly exceptional. stunning location, peaceful, tasteful decor, great breakfast, lots of attention to detail and really friendly hosts.
Convenient to Hay-on-Wye and Glasbury.
Room was well appointed and a good size,
Made to order breakfast that was tasty and a lot of options. There is a bar and restaurant but it wasn’t open the night we stayed there.
