The staff on the whole were really efficient and the room was gorgeous and the little touches eg lamb for do not disturb, window seat and comfortable bedding, dressing gowns and flip flops and temple spa shampoos etc. The spa was fabulous and really relaxing and made for a fabulous break and I would definitely come again.
The restaurant staff - I assume the restaurant manager (didn't get his name) and main bar staff - I think her name was Agnieszka (sorry if I spelt it wrong) were both attentive and personable and made you feel at ease.

A well kitted out hotel/inn. Very comfortable beds and chairs in both restaurant, bar and beer garden, Very friendly and helpful staff. We ate in the restaurant but the same menu was available throughout the inn. The village is very quiet and clean. More facilities available close by at Oswaldkirk and Helmsley.

A few lovely walks close by, great for peace and tranquillity. Fairfax Arms has a great vegan menu, the staff were so helpful and friendly. Take a walk to Gilling Lake and pay a visit to the chocolate shop on the way.

Great location really great pub/accomodation.
Great location really great pub/accomodation. We decided to walk over the fields to Ampleforth Abbey (approx 2/3 miles). Really enjoyed the walk but it is in one direction don't forget the walk back...we ordered a taxi!
The food is outstanding and I mean outstanding. I'm gobsmacked how nice this place is. By far my favourite hotel I've stayed in on Booking.com. To top it off they had a free mini chocolate selection box in the room that were made by autistic children at the nearby college. I want this place to myself but I would advise anybody to use this fine hostelry
The food and service were exceptional throughout our three day stay. Every meal was high quality, with good portions and a clear attention to detail. The service team were friendly and helpful, quick and attentive. It was a truly excellent experience as good as any restaurant or hotel we can remember.
The hotel is in a small village, no facilities there but the atmosphere is amazing, very peaceful and tranquil. The pub itself is fitted out to the highest degree and the food is excellent.
