Good location, room was clean but very basic. It was above a Chinese restaurant with very strong smells coming from the kitchen.

Good location, it was very close to Fort Augustus centre, all in walking distance. A good breakfast. The shared kitchen was available around the clock.
It has a more youth hostel kind of charm. It did not quit meet our expectations but for hikers and young people a good place.

Fab apartment with plenty of space in a lovely complex with great facilities.

Lovely place but unfortunately it seems most of the best eateries close on Thursday. Might be a good idea for them to get together and arrange different days to close? Other than that a nice place. Loxh Ness boat trips, Telford's locks for the canal. Lots of history.

We didn't shop in Fort Augustus but there were plenty of attractive shops there. Fort William has a retail park and large supermarkets and the M&S store is far better than our local stores in Basingstoke, Hants! We loved the location of Fort Augustus as it is midway between Fort William and Inverness, so you can visit either place within an hour and have an enjoyable scenic route either way. The Isles of Skye are well worth a visit and the road from Fort Augustus takes you through some breathtaking scenery - we thought we were back in Peru!! Absolutely stunning!! We had sunshine & showers, and more rainbows in 3 days than we have seen in two years! It's a long, long drive from the South of England, which is why we booked a stopover on the way there and back. I would love to come back, but would do it differently next time, and fly (should have told you I've developed feathers!!) then hire a car or camper van. There are so many places available for campsites! We would have loved to have seen red squirrels, but maybe next time......

Fort Augustus is a wonderful village on the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. It can be busy during the day with walkers, cyclists and of course ‘Nessie’ hunters, but a wonderfully quiet village in the evening which can offer great food for those staying. I stayed in the excellent accommodation above the Caledonian Canal Centre and had breakfast there before my departure. I can recommend’The Lock Inn’ my choice for my evening meal.

The downstairs was very modern and clean.
The downstairs was very modern and clean. Upstairs is in need of modernisation. The bedroom was very small and had a mini fridge which takes up too much space in what is already a small room. The en-suite was massive, equally the same size as the bedroom. This should have been made smaller to give more space to the bedroom. Also there was no wardrobe in the room only a few hooks on the wall to hang your clothes. Overall very disappointed with the room.

Loved the Caledonian canal and locks.
Loved the Caledonian canal and locks.
Café below our apartment was very nice with outside seating close to the canal lock.
We ate at the Lock Inn which was very nice - good beer, food and service.
Forget the Boffy if you want a drink. Overworked restaurant meant that whilst we were standing at the bar waiting to order, only the regulars got acknowledged by the single barman (who is the owner we were told), so we left after about 5 minutes of being totally blanked!

Lovely area, right on the end of Loch Ness with terrific views. The Canal Locks are great to watch in operation, with all types of boats going through. Good restaurants and nice pub along the canal. Good central place to visit other areas, Inverness, Mallaig and Fort William.
This place is Magical and Lovely! I liked the gardens, Nathalie's courtesy, the super breakfast, the room Loch Ness we stayed in! I want to come back soon in this dream called Kettle House!
It takes some time but you can reach Fort Augustus centre on foot through the wood from the B&B.
We got here by car and found the position really strategic for our journey. We managed to see Inverness, Fort Augustus and part of Skye Island.
I warn you : It'extremely hard to get disappointed here.
Location was pretty good, not super far from Inverness or Fort William whilst being 2 minutes walk from Loch Ness and the town of Fort Augustus. Decent breakfast options. Nice sized room and huge bathroom with good shower and great bath. Fridge in the room, very useful as well as desk and plenty of information about everything to do and historical points about different parts of the Highlands. Good atmosphere within the lobby itself, friendly and helpful staff.
It was no ordinary b&b , Anne was a great host and couldn’t be more helpful, we were caught up in the traffic jam after a bad road accident and Anne rang us to make sure we were ok because she knew we were travelling in that area, she didn’t need to do that. Anne is just a lovely person who was very helpful in suggesting places of interest and we chatted a lot about Fort Augustus in general.
The apartment was spacious and comfortable for two adults and was well equipped for a week long stay. The cost was very competitive for Fort Augustus but the best thing about the property was the location, which was excellent. Right on top of the canal lock gates and a couple of minutes from the shops and restaurants etc.
the location and view were amazing. we did a cruise from fort Augustus and my partner even picked out the hotel (without knowing it) saying how stunning it looked.
