Royal Hotel, hotel in Forfar

The Royal Hotel is situated in For far town center and features a fully-equipped fitness suite The rooms are en-suite and have tea/coffee making facilities and a flat-screen TV.

I loved this place, booked it last minute and so pleased, great room, lots of space, comfy bed, and very central, and the large rear car park is perfect for motorcycles, the staff could not have been more helpful, even supplied a plate etc, for a Chinese meal I bought locally, the breakfasts were just right, and the porridge with honey was delicious, I will definitely be staying again when I visit the area,if only to say hello to buddy the parrot who made me laugh with his language and impressions.

Really comfy beds with a TV with Netflix. The Breakfast - The owners made a Vegan breakfast and a veggie one for my partner and we really enjoyed it.

Not much. Staff very grumpy, not welcoming at all. Also I booked the room months ago and we got one of the worst rooms in the place! Street level, noisy, next to kitchen and beer garden. Very disappointing. Didn't eat in the place.

Forfar is a great little market town, filled with plenty of character. Lots of cafes and restaurants, as well as coffee houses. The usual spread of big supermarkets and plenty of smaller shops. Forfar is handy for Arbroath, Brechin & Montrose. Aberdeen is a 45 min drive north on the dual carriageway. Well served with good rail and bus links, north and south.

I love Forfar. The folk are so friendly. Like most places, there’s been a lot of development in the area and a lot of new faces but everything is still within walking distance, supposing you’re fit for it. I love the West End bar where the staff and clientele make you and your four legged escort welcome. Alas, Frank’s is not what it once was. Lots of the multinationals in town now but the independent retailers are just holding their own. Shop local!

A small town feel. Core area very walkable and filled with specialty shops and tasty restaurants. Major grocery Shopping available right in town at ASDA. Usually next day service from Amazon Warehouse about 10 miles away. 30 minutes from beaches and 30 minutes to mountain. Enjoy many hiking trails and nearby Castle visits Like Glamis Castle famous for its setting in Shakespeare’s McBeth.. Less than 19 miles from the large major city of Dundee filled with shops, museums , restaurants and events.

Location. 2 mins from Forfar and 15 from Dundee. We were visiting family in Brechin and it was perfect for that. Very clean and had everything we needed except a pizza cutter and numbers on the oven. I didn’t know what temperature it was on. Towels were even provided aswell as a bath mat which is 100% needed. I always take one with me but didn’t need to use mine.
