Although it is a typical English seaside town it has a surprising number of interesting things to see and do from Languard point and the docks to independent shops. Seems to be both a child and dog friendly place. Plenty of free play facilities as well as a clean beach plus handy easily accessible toilet facilities. A good selection of very good restaurants as well as take aways. My only bugbears are parking availability and the regular very irritating traffic hold ups coming off the A14 into the town.

Felixstowe is not "undiscovered Southwold" and in a way I hope it never becomes that. If you are ok with mobility it is such a joy to walk for just the right amount of hours and have a delicious lunch at Ferry Boat Inn along the Suffolk Coastal Path. It is just about holding its high street together and its seasonal "night life" on a Saturday is never too much. There is a really nice sense of big village and straightforward sand and sea days out. The large indoor swimming pool helps if the sea front is too miserable for smalls and oldies alike. Truthfully we probably should have gone for an affordable Air B n B and it would have been a better option - had it existed.

Such a lovely friendly town and not many empty shops so must be thriving but finding restaurants open after 8 pm was a bit tricky unless you wanted fish & chips. So many eateries closed at 6 pm, most closed at 8 pm and the Turkish one that we found open was very filled and on a hot night must have been quite uncomfortable for diners. We managed although the first night I cooked for us all, which was not the plan! Found the Waffle Shack and the pizza place right next door which was a great find. Best ice cream milkshakes and crepes and the biggest best pizza ever and served by such lovely people.

Felixstowe has a really good promenade giving access from Langaurd Point to Old Felixstowe and beyond via a short beech walk to the Ferry Boat Inn. The prom also gives access to a good range of cafe, bar and eating establishments, the spa Pavilion being well worth a visit, the town itself is but a short walk from the pier and has a pleasant pedestrian only high street

A very spacious and well furnished property set in a stunning location with views over the Deben entrance and the golf course. A lovely base from which to walk along the seafront and explore the local area, and Felixstowe Ferry itself is charming. A very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water too. Good communication prior to arrival led to an easy check-in and the house was very clean.
