Friendly greeting and pub vibe. Room was perfect, we were warned about potential noise of live music etc, but no events on the evening we stayed. Room had more than we expected, tea/coffee etc, fresh orange juice and mini fridge. Clean, hot shower and enjoyed our stay…perfect for our trip to the Thursford Spectacular. It was also a ‘proper’ pub & hope it stays that way 🤞Will stay again, thank you!

This is a really lovely place to stay. The room was great. Our delicious breakfast was delivered in a hamper. We also enjoyed the day of learning how to make chocolate truffles, at the cookery school in the same place!

Lovely welcome from staff member. The restaurant looked very inviting. We were shown to our room, which was really nice. Everything we needed was there. The bed was comfy. A plentiful continental breakfast was brought to our room in a picnic basket at 9am the next day.

Absolutely spotless cosy, beautifully decorated room, containing everything you could possibly require for your stay, including fresh milk!
Fabulous breakfast served in a traditional English dining room, on bone china plates with big band music playing in the background, what a treat!

Fakenham is a good location for the coast but the town itself is small with only a few places to eat and drink and a small cinema, but pretty quite. Nice chalk stream with footpath right next to cottage. Nice pub a short walk out of town too, in next hamlet, near a common

........We are NOT YOUNG....so, we ate with his Bruv's No.3 child in East Rudham or purchased our own food from the LOVELY VILLAGE SHOP...... or Morrisons....just 3-4 miles down the road.
Great Quiet Place.
Loads of Swallows nesting in the eves and Swifts (I think)....certainly Wagtails. Friendly dogs, Horses, and Great Owners

Lena was a great host and greeted us on arrival at her beautiful property. We were left milk, coffee/tea and cake and other essentials in the cupboards, which were most welcome. When we had an issue with something in the kitchen which was broken, it was dealt with and replaced straight away. There was a lovely private garden, although we didn't have the weather to enjoy it unfortunately, but the fresh flowers on the kitchen table were a nice touch and brought the garden inside. Fakenham is well situated for visiting the area.
All the meals taken were well presented, good value, and the staff interactions across the board were a delight. Those worthy of a special mention of Heather and her team but especially Ellie, Hanna and of course the morning joker Gary in the kitchen, all good sports and a credit to the hotel.
To put simply, a normal stay in a hotel can be made more enjoyable by having excellent staff, as in this case. We will be back next year.
This barn-conv is really nicely done, spacious with clearly top-quality materials and fittings. Every comfort is thought of.
Location is very quiet, barn and small private patio is south-facing. Large parking area and totally secure.
Host very welcoming, said hello and goodbye.
Fakenham has just enough facilities to serve a self-catering break, and many day-locations are within reach.
