Extremely friendly staff; lovely listed building; comfortable but not modern state of the art fittings; food was tasty and well cooked; very welcoming with a great ambience; central to Exmoor.

The host was extremely welcoming and helpful, the accommodation was spotlessly clean, the bed very comfy, very large bathroom and the amount of local walk guides provided was exceptional. Although there was no traditional oven, there was a oven/microwave which cooked really well, and an air fryer so you didn't need anything else. Location was excellent and we could always park on the road outside.

Superb food and hospitality, and a beautiful, authentic country inn, hosted by the lovely Jane and Steve who love hosting their guests. The food is a total knockout: Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Just superb. The joy and passion the chefs put into their cooking is evident, and you can taste it in every mouthful. This place is one in a million.

Did not have time to look around Exford as we only booked for one night. We were booked onto a special stargazing event, which was excellent.
However the drive over the moor from Lynton was stunning.
Exford is situated in an excellent part of the moor for exploring and Exford appeared to be a lovely village to walk around, with two pubs and village shops.
Horse riding available too.
Would reconmmend Exford for a place to stay for either a long weekend or for a week.
