Fantastic place. We've driven past a few times (Alton Towers Regulars) and always thought it looked charming. Decided to stay there this time instead of on the park. Wish we had made this decision years ago. The room was beautiful, we were given an upgrade as they were quiet. Really soft bed. Friendly lovely staff. They serve authentic Thai food, huge healthy big portions and much better, and cheaper, than on the resort. Beer garden beautiful, we will definitely be back.

Our room was better than expected being as there was 5 of us in our party. There was plenty of space and well layed out . The owners were very welcoming on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. The evening dinner we had was exceptional could not fault it . The same goes for breakfast

The Duncombe Arms is located in the village of Ellastone surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, which you can enjoy from your room or terrace, or sitting in their lawned and paved Garden which is in an elevated position maximising the view.
There are also dining tables outside, different areas inside and even a fully glazed floor to ceiling room with a retractable roof which allows you the beautiful views when we have some rainfall.
