Mansion House Hotel, hotel in Elgin

Nestled within its own grounds on the banks of the River Lossie, The Mansion House is a peaceful getaway just a few minutes’ walk from the historical centre of Elgin.

Nice staying in such an old house. Quiet and comfortable. Nice breakfast. Only one employee at breakfast did a good job trying to keep up with everyone that was showing up and ordering and different requests from people. I’m sure it was also his job to bus tables which poor guy had not had a chance to get to.

Lovely wee village and locals super friendly. Accommodation was excellent with all you would need for a comfortable stay. Although we didn't have food, we have been told that the food available is wonderful. The hosts were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.

The main square is quite nice to walk down, with lots of shops and resteraunts to pop into. Elgin Cathedral is up there as one of my favourite cathedrals/abbys that I've visited. stunning views from the top of the tower.

There are many excellent places for meals.

There are many excellent places for meals. We had a good fish and chips meal at Mr Chips right down the street of the Albany Lodge. Although it's very limited free parking, it is a good location to take the bus that takes you to Duluce Castle, Giants Causeway, etc. I really recommend this bus route to avoid driving and trying to find parking. A big plus is the ocean view from the hotel and a easy walk to the beach.

A Scots city, in the middle of many visiting spots. Especially if you like whiskey. In the heart of malt whiskey county. Travelling distance to the Cairngorms and Grampian, plus the major cities of the north.

Not a great deal in Elgin, to be honest, but it's still well worth a visit just to see and go round the cathedral, particularly on a fine day! The city's also well placed to stay over as you explore the coast and surrounding countryside (including its many distilleries and castles). The hotel where we stayed had no dinner service, but there's a selection of restaurants in the town to choose from and the local 'Spoons is the same good value no matter where you are!

Town centre looking a bit tired like most other town centres but nice places to eat. Great base for travelling. Everywhere is within walking distance. Ate at Toscano Italian Restaurant which was excellent. Very reasonably priced but booking recommended at peak times

It was a lovely pod in a quiet location but close enough to Elgin to drive to in 5 mins. The pod had everything you would require, even an ice machine. The owners were lovely and responded quickly to any queries I had in advance and during the stay. They also made my daughter's and wife's day by letting them feed the Highland cows and sheep.

I could not immediately find the hotel, but the staff were enormously helpful and guided me to their location over the phone. They gave upgraded my room, free of charge, and it was very comfortable and well-appointed. The breakfast was really excellent, and overall, I loved the hotel.

Having access to the pool and gym was a nice bonus, the bed and pillows were really good which I normally find an issue in most hotels (either too firm or feather pillows). It's only a 1 mile walk into Elgin centre, well positioned. The reception area looked lovely too.
