The property has undergone some major refurbishment since we last stayed and is lovely and clean and tidy. Our room was warm and everything we needed was there. Our television didn’t work, but Adrian promptly brought us a new one. Breakfast was wonderful, and cooked to how we liked it. Lots of choice as well as fresh fruit and cereals.

Lovely little holiday home. Definitely home from home. Beds were really comfy and shower was spot on. Hot tub was nice too. Plenty of parking available. Nice and quiet.

Amanda was amazing and couldn't do enough for me and my son. Breakfast was delicious also. Amanda showed us around the other rooms and the cottage which is also beautiful even if she is in the process of decorating it. The B&B is in close proximity to Annan, Lockerbie, Gretna and Carlisle so is a perfect location to stay over and continue your foray into Scotland/England.

Ecclefechan has a museum based in Thomas Carlyle's birthplace which is worth visiting. Nearby is the Devil's Porridge Museum which details life and events at MOD Gretna Green explosives factory. Also the coastline is very pretty.

Ecclefechan itself is not very exciting, however it is a good position to start from to appreciate the surrounding countryside. It is also very convenient position to quickly get quickly on your way wherever your next stop is/

Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired looking centre just a small general store. We went to eat at the Cressfield hotel on outskirts of village by caravan site.We ate there and would reccommend their evening meals.Ecclefechan is in quite a good position to see some of the surrounding countryside and coast.

Clean comfortable made very welcome , felt too many dont’s in conversation and didn’t like a note being put on bed we were not using after being told not to use empty bed , down side had to travel into Gretna for food to bring back , many more information on that would be useful but I also didn’t ask , have to say thank you for letting us leave a bit later to go to wedding

Lovely Hotel, 400 years old and lots of character, very friendly, regular bus service to Lockerbie, Annan, Gretna and Carlisle. We had a great adventure. Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. Absolutely no complaints at all and we shall go back. Thank you Mary and our lovely barmaid Karen. Nothing was too much trouble.

location was good for a break on way from Scotland to England. Host was super, food was great, room really comfy. genuine, homely atmosphere (thanks for letting me put logs on the fire). Recommend homemade Ecclefechan tart and yummy sticky toffee pudding. Hope to visit again - thanks to all for your hospitality.
Delightfully quirky hotel right next to motorway. John & Angela were great hosts. Large comfortable room and atmospheric bar. Good breakfast. All topped off with a hidden gem of an antique shop at the back of the hotel. It was a memorable one night stay!
Breakfast was lovely. The staff very welcoming and the room very comfortable.
The hotel is situated on the main road through Ecclefechan but it is very quiet town and although our room faced the road, we were not disturbed. We had a good nights sleep.
