Jo was a fantastic host and very welcoming. My room was huge, as was the bathroom. Everything was spotless. The property is extremely handy for the railway station.
In particular my breakfast was absolutely delicious and Jo kindly facilitated a Gluten Free and Vegetarian breakfast. The porridge with stewed fruit was a highlight.

Ecclefechan itself is not very exciting, however it is a good position to start from to appreciate the surrounding countryside. It is also very convenient position to quickly get quickly on your way wherever your next stop is/

Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. Absolutely no complaints at all and we shall go back. Thank you Mary and our lovely barmaid Karen. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by Ste who was more than helpful during our stay. The landlady made a point of coming to sit near us during the evening and we had a nice conversation not only with her but a local gentleman called Ben who we had a few drinks with. The barmaid was really good and although the place was busy she didn't drop a stitch. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again on the next trip to Scotland.
Beautiful old pub with lovely hosts. The room was bright, comfortable.and very quiet. The bar, although not open yet (plans are to open soon) has character and is cosy , we were lucky enough to sit by the fire. The owners are very welcoming and couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast was a fantastic with a variety of options. A perfect spot to stay not far off the highway. A must are Kathy’s Ecclefechan tarts!
The friendly welcome was great after our long trip. The room was spacious and warm, the bathroom had everything we needed. We had dinner, which was really good - especially the Ecclefechan tart! Breakfast was generous and very well cooked. We highly recommend the Ecclefechan Hotel and plan to stay there again in the near future.
We liked the location and the proximity to the hotel where we had dinner on the first night. We liked the size of all the rooms especially the bedrooms. The bedding and towels were spotless as were all the dishes in the kitchen.
Lovely Hotel, full of character, friendly owners, clean rooms with crisp white bedding and fluffy towels, great location for overnight stop heading south from northern Scotland. All round positive experience, will return!
