Durness Youth Hostel, hotel in Durness

Durness Youth Hostel is located in Durness. With free WiFi, this 2-star hostel has a garden and a bar. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar.

the picturesque hike all down to Faraid head on a beautiful blue day is priceless.. price..less..ish...kinda. It is getting a bit too pricey around there in the UK and I cannot afford three digits for an overpriced BnB, and with three digits I mean the first number even beginning with a 2 or 3!!!! per night or a prison cell shared by four at the Aviemore SYHA branch for three tenners per night. It is too bad the UK is punishing us respectable mainland Europeans who love the UK. With the new ETA that we will have to pay for, it is maybe fair to give other countries a chance next time

A recently renovated campground located in Rhiconich, Eco Crofter's Bothy by the Sea - Off Grid Experience As Seen on Netflix The Undertow features a garden.

This eco-bothy is everything that was advertised and more. We only wish we had booked two nights. A short walk to a wild Scottish beach, views across the headlands, a firepit to warm us as we looked at the stars. Perfect.

This was a great location for us along our trip, and it was a big, spacious house with everything we needed (and rest assured, there’s a shower curtain now if you’ve read previous reviews!). Would definitely recommend as a place to stay.

Smithy House, hotel in Tongue

Located in Tongue in the Highlands region, Smithy House provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The property has sea and mountain views.

Well! I don't even know where to start! There were six of us, and we are between 40 and 60 years old, so we have seen quite a few houses where we have stayed during our lives. But like this! never before!!! There are no words for it! Modern, wonderful, beautiful, clean, we came from Hungary and traveled from Canada, to the Dominican Republic, from Iran, to Burma, almost all the countries of the world. But we have never been to such a beautiful house! We didn't even want to leave the house! We had a pub next to us, a convenience store in front of us, we had all the comforts. In the kitchen, there was nothing missing, the bathrooms were so clean and modern that we didn't even want to go in, lest we spoil something, the beds, the quilts, the pillows... you didn't even want to get out of bed... Well, I'll finish here. because I only know Latin, just keep going! Thank you Smithy house team! Staying with you is an unforgettable experience!

It was a luxurious homely cottage with a great location in the centre of Durness, 15-minute walk from the beach. You can see the sea from the lounge and bedroom window! The cottage has everyone you need and more! There are beautiful beaches a short drive away, our favourite being Oldshoremore - worth the trip!

Durness is an undersold part of the North West.

Durness is an undersold part of the North West. We booked two nights and could have spent a week. There is everything from local sights, day trips, hiking, golf, or just sitting back enjoying the view with a wine or a book. If you are there in Winter, Northern Lights are a distinct possibility. The local stores are small but well stocked th anything you can imagine.

Durness is a beautiful little place with amazing beaches and great facilities. There is a small but very well equipped Spa supermarket that has everything you could possibly need. Smoo Cave and Balnakeil Craft Village are both close by and lovely to visit. Would strongly recommend Sango Sands Oasis bar and restaurant for a drink and takeaway fish and chips. There is so much to see and do in the highlands and Durness is a perfect spot from which to explore.

The property is in a great location for exploring Durness and it has a nice garden area for sitting outside. There is a small parking space at the side of the house. The sea views from the front window were lovely. The beds were comfy and nice fresh linen and there was plenty of towels. The shower was easy to work and lots of hot water. There was a well equipped kitchen. There is a washing machine aswell. There was a selection of interesting books in the living room.

This home is a real find - and it is a real home. I was traveling on my own but it would comfortably accommodate six people in three bedrooms. Recently renovated with everything needed for an extended stay or just a couple of days as I was. It would not be possible to be disappointed with this home. Durness is fairly remote but a wonderful place to visit with plenty to do and see. Oh, and there were rabbits in the garden - how sweet was that?

In my opinion the village Durness is a highland paradise as we kept occupied every day with surfing ,kayaking ,walking around numerous world class beaches , headlands, estuaries , dunes, lochs and sea , coloured with a wide spectrum of blue tones. We never drove more than 3 miles each day and were kept occupied all week. The views from the old township of Ceannabeinne cliffs over the beaches below are some of the very best in Scotland.

The bed was so comfy, it's the most comfortable sleep we had throughout the NC 500!!!! Love the Christmas deco around the house and DVD movie collection. It's a hidden jem in Durness. It's a spacious, lovely space outside the house as well. Host also checked in on us and gave us some tips for our travel.
