Location is good but the place is looking a bit tired. Paid just under £200 for a small double room including parking on a Saturday night in July. Bar prices are stratospheric! £23 for a beer a wine and a Coke ( same in the pub 20 metres away was £12 and the beer was far better) Breakfast was ok for buffet but the staff (mainly young girls) didn’t keep the warming trays topped up, had to ask for more eggs and bacon as trays were constantly empty. In summary, we stay here often as our youngest is in University and it is still probably the best in Norwich city centre but you get so much more in gastro pubs in surrounding towns and villages for half the price plus a cab ride each way it’s still cheaper. City centre hotels in say Krackow, Ghent or Brugge ( we’ve stayed at recently) are far nicer, better equipped, bigger rooms, bigger beds, £50 a night cheaper and they don’t rip you off in the bar.
The Best Western Plus Oaklands Hotel is set in its own grounds on the outskirts of Norwich. Overlooking the beautiful Yare River Valley, Norwich Station and city centre are 5 minutes’ drive away.

The apartment is amazing, just a short ride off the main road. Welcoming landlady. Complete peace, lovely breakfast. It is just a village so very little to travel about for but excellent location to be near Norwich en route
