Great staff, very friendly and easy to talk to and very accommodating. The rooms were excellent, very clean and had all the amenities. Lovely place to stay, in the middle of a vineyard so plenty of hikes to take around the property, also helps that the food and wine are absolutely delicious!
The White Horse is a beautiful Grade II-listed pub in the heart of Dorking with atmospheric dining areas, serving an award-winning fresh and seasonal menu, and a cosy oak beamed bar with fireplace.
Set in 16 acres of tranquil Surrey countryside and surrounded by lawns and garden terrace, Hartsfield Manor combines Victorian grandeur with impressive contemporary comforts and facilities.
The Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel is situated in one of the most picturesque parts of Surrey and has a restaurant, an outdoor heated pool and a croquet lawn.

We went to Dorking to do a bit of countryside walking. We started each walk form Box Hill visitors' centre. We followed the Juniper Trail which is a decent length with some rather steep sections. While those were a bit of a challenge, the uphill was not too long, so for an averagely fit person it's fine.
We also tried the Stepping Stones trail, which is shorter than the Juniper one, but with steeper and longer downhill and uphill sections and a flat section alongside the river Mote. I loved it! everywhere the views were amazing.

We were only there one night and it feeled they didn't care because we didn't have dinner. We'd been delayed by 3.75 hours over a 59 mile journey. We kept them informed and wondered if we'd been given a poor room for that reason

The city of Dorking is charming.
The city of Dorking is charming. The people are friendly and the shops are lovely. We ate at the amazing Roosters Kitchen, I highly recommend the pink lady dip. The food was so fresh and tasted amazing. The wait staff were attentive and gave great service. We walked everywhere, but there were buses if you don't feel like walking. All of the roses were in bloom too! We also had a proper Sunday roast chicken meal on Sunday at Stepping Stones. My daughter had the roast beef, both were divine..

Dorking is a delightful historic market town with a variety of shopping and excellent pubs and restaurants. A short distance away are some terrific places to visit, including Box Hill and Polesden Lacey, two National Trust areas that provide awesome hiking and areas to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

The hotel was very cold, including corridors and public areas. There was a fireplace with plenty of wood, but nobody had made a fire, which would have been very welcome!!
The room was extremely cold and the handrail in the bathroom only heated up half way, the other part was stone cold.

I had a delightful stay at the Studio, where I stayed solo for a week. It's situated in a quiet, green area, yet very close to the main street and shops (Sainsbury's, Waitrose, book store, nice cafés). The accommodation is very well equipped, and James is an excellent host, always eager to offer assistance or suggestions for activities in the area. Additionally, I was particularly fond of the studio's decor, which, unlike the impersonal ambiance of standard hotel rooms, adds to its cosiness & comfort.
All a bit shoddy upon closer inspection. Very tired looking, table edges and chairs all scuffed and worn and very disappointing, average travelodge style buffet breakfast for such a grand building. Windows in the room wouldn’t close. (I know it’s old and listed etc but it’s not sharp or impressive on the inside )
Great restaurant in Dorking : Sorrel.
The room and the experience were very nicely and thoughtfully put together, which was noticeable and added something to the overall experience.
It was nice to stay in such an old building and experience something in-keeping with the vibes in Dorking and I think they done a good job of building on those vibes.
The continental breakfast was great and eggs were available on request. The location, within minutes of Dorking High Street, was ideal and very peaceful. Maggie and Richard were very hospitable and accommodating in everything.
