The location is fabulous and the breakfast (and food) was excellent.
Above all, the staff were brilliant!
The grounds around the hotel are gorgeous and there are walks that you can do from there.
The room (we stayed in the Eryri suite) had superb (and fast) Wi-Fi, a large smart TV, and the bed was very comfy.

Clean. Nicely furnished. Compact. Had a great lift. Bright and airy. Well organised. Staff are very helpful - we had not been ticked in at breakfast and before the end time a member of staff tapped on our door just to check if we would like some - very thoughtful and customer focussed - thank you.

Dolgellau is a lovely, pretty, friendly Welsh town. Set in a backdrop of mountains. Lots walking to do. Great pubs, restaurants and cafes. You can walk along the Afon Mawddach Estuary to Barmouth. The Alzheimers Society chose this area to stage Trek 26. I definitely recommend this Trek too.

Not much to the town in the way of variety for the shopper.
Not much to the town in the way of variety for the shopper. Lots however if you like cakes and pastries. There are some charismatic and traditional pubs and some amazing food to be had too. It's a quaint place to go for a relaxing couple of nights away.

Dolgellau is a rather deprived town which doesn't lend itself to tourism. Having said that it's a good base for exploring the wonderful surrounding countryside. The eateries in the town were ok but nothing special.
The main store was a Co-op which was well stocked.

Dolgellau is a small but compact town with shops and pubs...
Dolgellau is a small but compact town with shops and pubs etc easily accessible. Main car park by the river is on the edge of town but a minutes walk away from the centre. There could be more choice of restaurants and cafes but we found a hotel (The Ship) that served good food.
The room was warm and cozy, with a nice bathroom and comfy bed. Duncan the host was very accommodating as I had a special request to visit the property 3 times (including my stay) as I was doing a through hike/run across the region and needed to leave a drop bag there in advance with a change of clothes and supplies etc. I would recommend staying here if you are visiting Dolgellau as the room was very comfy and good value for money and the property is situated in a quiet area only minutes from the lovely shops and pubs in the town.
Really cute little spot, beautifully kept site, near a petrol station and a Starbucks surprisingly so you've got everything you need. Great base from which to explore Snowdonia/Dolgellau, which itself is a beautiful town. The part of the campsite it's in is separate from everything else and at the top of the hill so you get lots of privacy, including a gate you can close to maximise the peace. The hot tub (once started) is lovely and the hut is very comfy and clean.
Amazing view on Cader Idris through the window.
Great location, 10 minutes walk to Dolgellau.
Clean and comfortable room. All clean and fresh, homely feel, peaceful area.
Kettle and mugs in the room in case you'd like some coffee or tea.
Good wifi in the room.
The location is right in the middle of Dolgellau, close to restaurants and pubs. The owners of the hotel were fantastic and couldn’t have been more hospitable. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfasts were amazing. They set us up for the day.
Good quality accommodation with friendly and helpful staff. There are no real frills to this hotel but it offers good value and the food is high quality at a reasonable price. The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Dolgellau.
