I arrived at 9pm and was welcomed with open arms after only booking 20 minutes earlier.
My whole experience was absolutely fantastic, complete luxury with everything you could possibly ask for.
I am exceptionally happy.
I have already booked another stay and have discussed using the owners separate rental property.
I couldn't recommend any higher!

We stayed at a local pub/hotel overnight and we we had our evening meal there . We had a stroll through the town early evening and there were plenty of places to eat and drink . Parking was good either on road side or there were 2 carparks near by .

We went into Crediton once while we stayed locally. Crediton Church was amazing, we absolutely loved it and spend quite a lot of time inside as it was so big and peaceful. The organist was practising. There was a very nice square in Crediton which had cafes, pubs and eateries. People were friendly. The main road was very busy and noisy, which was a bit too much for my autistic son. Some really nice independent shops and charity shops.

We were able to walk to eat in the town square we had two great evening meals at the Three Little Pigs. Reasonable priced well cooked food. There are other places to eat but we loved this quirky pub and the food was great so no need to find anywhere else!

This is the town and not the location of The New Inn.
This is the town and not the location of The New Inn. Crediton is a bit tired from what we could see. We did eat at a very good pub called The Three Little Pigs as it was the only place available for grandparents and an 8 year old needing a meal after a 3 hour drive.

Nice little town with lots of history and amenities, we didn't have time to fully explore as we had activities booked in the area during the days. Several pubs & restaurants to choose from.
I would avoid Exeter at busy times as the traffic is a nightmare. be prepared for narrow single track lanes if you want to go onto Dartmoor There are busses and trains to various places if you don't want to drive

We thought it was excellent value for money. Very clean and perfect location. The lounge had a nice feel to it and plenty of beverages and opportunity for biscuits. The breakfast was excellent set in a quirky coffee shop. Lovely people. Even met the owner who also runs a motorcycle shop adjacent to the hotel. Lovely place.
The Black Dog is a lovely old building with modern bedrooms where a warm friendly welcome and good food awaits.
A hidden gem tucked away in the village of Black Dog, just a few miles from Crediton.
