Tons of space and rooms and very nice friendly staff. We accidentally broke a French press and they didn't even ask us to pay for it. I left some money anyway, but it really impressed me with how wonderful they were!

Staying in the village of Little Stretton was the quintessential British country experience for us. Liz & Jeff are premier hosts and they take great care to make their charming property inviting, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is cooked to order with great locally sourced choices and they were able to offer gluten free options. We enjoyed eating in both pubs and mixing with the locals. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We would love to return to explore more.

We had a great stay at Craven Arms and were made to feel very welcome. There was bread, milk and a few treats wating for us on arrival, which we really appreciated.
The house was well maintained and a great size for a family of 3 and a good location to explore Shropshire and beyond.

Harry Tuffin is a great store selling just about everything.
Harry Tuffin is a great store selling just about everything. The Discovery Centre is good. Didn't try any pubs in the town. Only saw one but didn't look that attractive, but I didn't try so I'm not qualified to say.

Craven Arms is an excellent jumping-off point for this part...
Craven Arms is an excellent jumping-off point for this part of Shropshire. It's within easy reach of Ludlow, Church Stretton, Bishops Castle, Clun and Much Wenlock. The supermarket - Tuffins - is independent and seems to have got lost on its way to France: is there anything it doesn't sell?
The neighbouring towns are charming and are largely preserved from the 18th century and beyond. Walk down the high street of any of them and it feels like being part of a costume drama.
Most of the shops in this part of the world are independent. There are remarkably few chains and this adds to the allure. It all feels slightly foreign - and inviting.
Stuff to do? Excellent walking! The Long Mynd (above Church Stretton) has a steep climb and staggering views. One of the hidden glories of the UK. Ludlow Market is well worth visiting (as is the town). And there's a huge range of coffee shops and small eateries; craft shops and delis. The Poetry Pharmacy in Bishops Castle (check for opening times in advance) is fabulous: drink coffee and read Byron! It was reviewed by the Guardian and the owner has appeared on Radio 4.

Large village with several food amenities and Shropshire...
Large village with several food amenities and Shropshire Visitor Centre. However not particularly pretty compared with other villages and really more useful as a base for exploring the more interesting surrounding villages and landmarks.
This is a very comfortable and well-appointed cottage/apartment for two people. It is located in a quiet side street near the main road that runs through Craven Arms. It is a relaxing place to stay after a day's travelling or sightseeing. We particularly liked the layout with its separate bedroom. There is on-street parking available either in front of the cottage or further along the road. We were impressed with the fact that on both our visits, eight days apart, the property was ready early. Thank you again, Linda).
The location is great to explore the hills and countryside of Shropshire. Good shop in nearby Craven Arms. The view towards the hills from the front of the house is stunning and the small balcony with chairs and bistro table is a nice touch. Although there are footpaths nearby to dog walk, I'd recommend the walks from the Discovery Centre in Craven Arms. There are good pubs in the area though none very close.
Very welcoming hosts and a good location, just outside the small town of Craven Arms, for exploring the Shropshire hills and villages. Fully equiped with absolutely everything that you could want and surprisingly spacious. Great private garden with seating and a hot tub area. An hourly direct bus service to Shrewsbury and Ludlow across the road. Would recommend and would book again.
The owners were lovely, very helpful and kind.
It's a very comfortable place.
We really enjoyed Craven Arms.
It was quiet but yet not far from everything and being able to enjoy the garden or to walk from the door into town was very refreshing.
