This is an exceptional B&B the location is perfect for exploring and a short walk into the town. The facilities were perfect and our room was comfortable and spacious. The hosts were friendly and most helpful and added to the overall experience. Breakfast was first class. What a friendly and welcoming B&B.

Awesome guest house. The decoration of the guest rooms, the breakfast, the sun terrace for the guests - everything is done with great attention to detail and to make you feel good. I also recommend the village of Combe Martin. The beach is great and there are several pubs and shops in walking distance.

Large room, big sash windows to open, fabulous view, parking outside front door. Grounds well kept and choice of places to sit outside. On our wedding anniversary requested a special meal from the chef, who produced a superb plate.

Combe Martin has a great little beach for families but not really a lot else.
I love it because it has a great walk around the headland, and is a a good place to stay to visit other attractions in the area

Beautiful location for energetic walking!
Beautiful location for energetic walking! Lovely eating places and a strong sense of community throughout the village. We particularly liked the Pack of Cards for evening meals and the cafe overlooking the beach for sandwiches. We had great weather for all 5 days and the beach was much used by all ages. Kayaking, paddle boards were very popular and when the tide was in it was a very protected beach making it safe for young inexperienced swimmers.

Sheltered cove, great for SUP.
Sheltered cove, great for SUP. Low tide makes it even better for small children. People on the beach are friendly and are there to have a good time. The beach is kept clean and there is a designated barbecue area if you want to. Loads of parking, and the town has everything you need and want.

Didn't go into Combe Martin apart from to Top Chippy (👍) and co-op (there's an ATM inside the co-op). Beach is not dog friendly at all, so no good for us. Also, reports of sewage outflows into its river, so not very appealing. Family went to Dinosaur theme park on outskirts, which grandson enjoyed. But it's incredibly hilly, no good for older people with bad knees! (Photo of view down into Combe Martin from Dinosaur park, below)
Got the impression that parking can be tricky in Combe Martin at busy times. Apparently We preferred the beautiful sandy beach at Saunton sands, 25 minutes away, good parking close to dog friendly beach, decent cafe, restaurant, loos, surf schools, some rock pools on right hand side for little crabs, warm pools for toddlers. Parking by the hour, unlike Woolacombe, which charges £10 whether you stay for 30 minutes or all day!!
We stayed on a farm on Ridge Hill a few miles away, but don't drive from CM over the hill, you need a machete to hack the bracken and brambles out of your path. Go round the slightly longer way if heading in that direction!
Lynmouth and Linton worth a visit, pretty little harbour town with 500ft cliff lift. Some free parking along front, by lift. Get lift up, then walk down the Poet's zigzag path for wonderful views over the bay and town. Nice coastal drive out of Lynmouth onto Exmoor, look out for ponies, and several parking areas close to coast path and a few easy walks round the headland with views back down towards Lynmouth. Wonderful Rambler's rest cafe at County gate, boundary with Somerset, delicious cream teas on pretty china, (photo below),best scones, friendly doggy and welcoming owners.
Dare to drive across the ford at Oare and gingerly cross Robbers bridge (fully an inch either side of car!), in Lorna Doone valley. (Photo of pretty ford below)

It's not the most picturesque place in Devon as it's an old Silver mining town, but it still has some great features. Beach is fantastic if you like interesting pebbles and rock pools, but also lots of sand and good surf. NB there is no beach when the tide is in! The Pack 'o' Cards pub is really good for an evening meal and one of the few places with good car parking, along with the Co-op, both well away from the beach. Parking is very poor, but if you're staying there then there are some great walks where not many go as there is hardly any car parking!

Unique accommodation and excellent hosts.
Unique accommodation and excellent hosts. Very quiet with sea views. Going to sleep with the sound of the sea was a real treat. Breakfast was lovely. I visited in October and Combe Martin was quite sleepy, but a perfect base for walking the coast path and exploring Exmoor.
Good location, in easy reach of some great beaches like Saunton sands, lovely family very welcoming, dog friendly, comfy beds, nice bathroom with decent sized towels, delicious eggs provided from owner's chickens, fun to feed piggies - grandson loved that, good play field and games room. But go round the slightly longer route to Combe Martin/ dinosaur theme park, that back road up and over the hill is hair-raising and leaves vegetation stuck in your car grill!😅
The warm welcome received from Andrew the owner, the high standard of fixtures and fittings in the room. The additional extras such as Alexa, small fridge with fresh milk and the gift of fudge were very nice touches to receive.
Finally, the breakfast was the best we have ever had from any hotel or guest house we have stayed at and they also accommodated my gluten free diet. Thank you for a really lovely stay.
Loved how unique it was in every way, far from the nondescript generic hotels found everywhere.
The owners warm welcome with Pablo and Poacher on arrival and even offering to iron my things. The rooms are beautifully put together with taste and personality
Location was absolutely stunning. Lovely little cottage with easy access to Combe Martin and illfracombe. Gorgeous woodland to walk down by the stream.
