The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, lovely old pub which serves amazing food at good prices. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they even took the trouble to leave us a card. Will definitely be back thankyou to Sarah and all the staff Jill and ken x

This was my fifth stay, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. While I couldn’t stay in the deluxe room this time due to it being fully booked, the standard room was still comfortable and met my needs. The value for money and the excellent facilities golf course, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room make it a great escape. However, there were a few downsides. The bathroom felt outdated, there were no bathrobes provided, and the view wasn’t the best from my room. Additionally, it’s a bit inconvenient that there’s still no direct walking path from the hotel rooms to the leisure facilities, meaning guests have to walk outside to access the main building. Despite these small issues, it remains a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, whether solo or with a partner.

This place has function rooms for birthdays/weddings/etc, the hotel rooms are also relaxing, it also has facilities like The Gym, indoor pool with Steam Room, Sauna and Hot Tub, it also had a lovely bar called The Pulse that serves great food, and has kids colouring books and games for babies. This place just doesn’t have a hotel it is also a golf club where people can play golf.

Coggleshall is a pretty little village in Essex .
Coggleshall is a pretty little village in Essex . It isn’t big by any means but ample shops with lovely pubs and restaurants, everything needed for a quiet get away ! We stayed at The Woolpack pub (our first stay there and will definitely be going back) it was fantastic, a beautiful room, had a lovely lunch and such friendly staff . We ate at Ranfields Brasserie where we go every year for 3 birthday celebrations and it it such a fab restaurant with faultless food and service

Such a lovely 1400 rustic pub
Such a lovely 1400 rustic pub
Staff were so accommodating, going that extra mile
Even though the owner was behind the bar she went out of her way to help me with the WiFi
She also put some syrup pudding aside as there was only three left
The room was lovely and cosy , the bathroom was spacious with a huge shower
The only negative I would say is the breakfast was a bit disappointing! Not the best quality and would have preferred a fresh Croissant and a tasty granola with small packets of cereal as my husband doesn’t like muesli. Orange juice was lovely and a good selection of hot drinks with an option to ask for more

We had an enormous room in a quirky building full of character. The continental breakfast was very good, and value for money (we paid £7 each, £5 for children) compared to other places.
The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the hotel was ideally situated for us as we were attending a wedding at Houchins venue which was only a mile and a half away.
The village of Coggeshall is very interesting too.
The room was simply amazing, absolutely massive with a similar sized bathroom. Coggeshall is a really good place to visit with all the charm of Lavenham but minus the crowds, if you don't like karaoke avoid Thursday night. Some of the singers were excelleht btw
The property was functional, but it's focus seems to be on the golf club and sports facilitities, there is little outside of bedrooms that would suggest this is a hotel.
