Amazing! We received a very warm welcome when we arrived. The property had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and lovely extra touches - continental breakfast and lovely toiletries.
Perfect location for exploring the area.
Large car park.
I would 100% recommend this property and would love to return in the future

Not much to do in the area - a lot of shops and restaurants were closed when we got there on the Monday
If I was to visit the Lake District again I would either choose a full serviced hotel or a cottage to rent with full amenities

Really enjoyed atmosphere in town, nice country feel.
Really enjoyed atmosphere in town, nice country feel. Loved all independent shops and very clean on pavements. One or two of the pubs are past their best. Parking charges on the high side I thought. Really nice along the river, loads of interesting things to do.

The town is interesting for a day but beyond that you need to go further afield. Either back to St Maryport/ Workington/ Whitehaven with its Georgian industrial and social/maritime history. Fascinating. Or on to the top lake district, ie :- Keswick etc The main attraction we would reccomend is the Keswick Pencil Museum, did you know that pencils have always been made from locally derived graphite and not (NEVER) lead??. No, we didn't either!! Journey further south and find the Quaker Museum in Kendall. Home to the Quaker Tapestries which are the history of the Quaker movement through tapestry. 200 years of local history, utterly fascinating. Plus a rather tasy cafe and free parking. Who knew that the Quaker movement was so important in the north west during the 1800s/1900s. Vist to find out more

A lovely little town in a quieter area of the busy Lake District. A world class museum (The Wordsworth House and Garden) dominates the high street with lots of classy cafes and shops to keep us happy. Cockermouth is a good place to base yourself for the Western Lakes and Cumbrian Coast.

The Hotel is in a perfect location. We had a lovely room at the front of hotel with a great balcony. Room a little bit dated but that adds to the charm.
Lovely little garden area and great little cozy bar. So clean and comfortable. Staff were all so nice and couldn't do enough for you. Just a walk up the street of an evening and plenty of bars that are friendly and relaxing with live entertainment on. Lovely little Tea Rooms local too. The Turkish Restaurant is the best we've eaten in. Highly recommend it.
The house was perfect. We booked this for my mums 60th birthday for 10 adults and one Jack Russell. It was wonderful. All of the bedrooms were gorgeous, spacious and beds were comfy, the dining room and living rooms were huge and perfect when we had meals and a few drinks. The location was also excellent, right next to the town and walking distance from lots of pubs and restaurants, and everywhere was dog friendly, my dog officially became a pub dog this holiday! I already want to go back!
Excellent location for exploring Lakeland, especially the much overlooked Western Lake District. Cockermouth (2 miles away) is a very pleasant town and a good shopping centre, and much quieter than the touristy towns such as Keswick.
A lovely shower with plenty of hot water and space.
The convenience of a dishwasher.
Private parking right by the apartment.
A genial host who could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Beautifully appointed and decorated, this small hotel in a quiet street in the centre of Cockermouth, within walking distance to everything, is spotlessly clean and most comfortable. Lovely bed-linens and towels. The photographs on the website are very representative!
The staff are welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.
We hope to return!
Everything, the holiday home was beautiful, the location was perfect for visiting places around the Lake District and the kical town of Cockermouth is a lovely town with shops and eating places - The Bitter End recommended
