The proprietors kindly allowed me to book in early as I was attending an afternoon function and as the property is very conveniently situated next to the bus station I didn't have to take my luggage with me to the function.
Had my case carried up the stairs for me.
Although conveniently close to the centre of Galashiels, with shops and eating facilities close by, it was an exceptionally quiet place to stay. No night disturbance whatsoever (Saturday and Sunday nights.)
Nothing fancy about this property - just clean and cared for and everything you needed close at hand. Very happy customer.

Beautifully presented flat, with everything needed for a comfortable stay.
Cosy authentic flat in the heart of Galashiels is situated in Galashiels. During your time staying in this recently renovated apartment, dating back to 19th century, you will have access to free WiFi....

The flat was very well furnished with plenty utensils. Spotlessly clean. Another plus point, Netflix supplied free.
Room well suited for disability access but poorly located...
Room well suited for disability access but poorly located beside front door and in corridor leading to busy bar and busy rear conservatory areas. Hotel popular with local, noisy, rowdy young drinkers, all swearing loudly, females screaming at each other constantly rather than conversing naturally. Speaking as a mother of 2 students and former Secondary School Teacher this establishment’s bar guests did not represent themselves, the local neighbourhood, Scottish tourism positively and I would most certainly not recommend this establishment for families. The Guests in 2 other rooms, although situated on the upper floor were also unable to experience the relaxing Sat evening watching TV they had envisaged and like us, did not receive an apology the following day from those responsible for mismanaging the situation.

We had a family room that was quite spacious.
We had a family room that was quite spacious. The hotel is very easy to find and is a good break night if travelling further north. Although it is situated on the outskirts of town it is very quiet and peaceful with very good views.
During our stay we ate in the hotel bar and found the menu selection to be the standard fayre expected on a pub menu. All well cooked and reasonably priced for a travelling family.
The staff were polite and friendly.

The staff were great.
The staff were great. The new owners need to get in touch with Booking.com (or the other way round and amend the info sheet). The faults were minor and didn't cause me any problems. The more fastidious might have had issue. It was the best nights sleep I have had in ages
Hotel was very nice and well situated in Clovenfords. The staff were really nice and friendly and went out their way to help nothing was a bother for them. The room was clean tidy and comfortable there were plenty of towels and tea coffee sugar and milk.
The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. All the food was excellent and it was exceptional value. We would definitely recommend the Clovenfords to anyone and we would certainly stay there again 😀
This is more like a pub with rooms. It’s not luxury but had a comfortable stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Good dinner and breakfast with best scrambled eggs I’ve had in an hotel. Very good value.
