A favourite pub but I haven't stayed here before. Price is normally a little high for me. Easy to find with excellent parking. Room was lovely with a large comfy bed. Good shower I ate in the pub and the food was good. I travelled alone and felt very comfortable. Staff predominantly warm and friendly.

Santo's Higham Farm Hotel, hotel in Clay Cross

In the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, Santo's Higham Farm Hotel has stunning views over the Amber Valley.

Located on the edge of the Peak District, just off the main road. A wedding venue with lots of public spaces. Bedrooms are well-equipped and spotless. Breakfasts were very tasty with plenty of choice. Evening food good and well-served. What made this hotel stand out, though, was the staff. I have seldom stayed anywhere with such smiley, friendly staff. Without exception, they were wonderful!

There's some great pubs locally that have amazing food menu's and also have live music most weekends . There are some very good car boots close by to clay cross and its great to go for a mooch around looking for some bargains ..Tansley is a morning car boot every Sunday and Twin Oaks is a Saturday afternoon take wellies as this time of year the ground can be quite muddy . We throughly enjoyed our weekend in Clay Cross and will most definitely return

    Good location gor our trip.

Good location gor our trip. Room large but could do with a refresh. Disappointed at paying full price when an 18th birthday party was taking place which disturbed our sleep. Lovely food and the waitress was very attentive. No manager appeared to be on the premises and not heard back with regards to complaint.

There wasn't much to Clay Cross that we we saw and we didn't look around the area particularly. Mostly rural but a static mobile home park was close by. Easy to find using a sat nav., just avoid the bike riders - of which there were quite a few.

Our hotel was situated a few miles outside Clay Cross at the hamlet of Wooley Moor. We visited Clay Cross on two occasions once to dine at the Three Horseshoes [excellent] and secondly to shop at the Tesco Extra store situated in the town centre, We particularly liked the unrestricted free parking available in the town centre.

It was perfectly located for Stretton Manor Barn for a wedding we were attending. As we were staying with our 14 year old daughter, it was nice that she was able to have her own room but still be next to us. This wouldn’t have been possible in a standard hotel.
