Never seen so much dust bedside tables tea tray thick in dust and to add to that the owner actually said as we were checking in he had been up to clean it and hoped it was OK. The toilet had dust and black hairs around the back of the seat. Carpet had not be vacuumed don't know when it was ever clean. Paid for superior room. The room was definitely not superior and over priced. Would not stay again. Based on the really filthy room. Mentioned it to the female staff member who was also on Reception. Paid alot for the room and let down. Rest of the place was OK and food was good

Falcon Manor Hotel, hotel in Clapham

Built in 1841, this Grade II listed building has retained many period features, with converted and tastefully furnished interiors creating the warm and friendly atmosphere.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by the warm glow of a real fire and the welcoming professionalism of the reception staff. We were invited to discover the guest lounge, bar & dining area, and the elegant function suite before settling into our perfect ensuite room on the first floor. The charming decor, accentuated by candlelight in the communal hallways, presented an eclectic blend of genuine historical elements and contemporary art. The hotel boasts well-groomed gardens featuring a grand pagoda and outdoor seating, offering breath taking views of the Yorkshire Dales. Our stay was complemented by a sumptuous, expertly prepared dinner and a wholesome, satisfying breakfast the next morning.

Clapham is a quiet village but does get a lot of day trippers visiting the Ingleborough estate and caves. The Old Sawmill cafe is excellent (fab coffee) but the village could probably do with more daytime cafes. Settle is not far away and this has an excellent assortmant of shops and cafes.

Clapham is a beautiful tranquil picturesque village.

Clapham is a beautiful tranquil picturesque village. Only 40 mins from Bradford and 35mins into Kendal the Lake District . Nearest grocery shop Booths is Seattle ,which is much nicer than Waitrose. I would say the higher end. The village of Settle is only 10mins from Clapham. Clapham is in a great location in the Yorkshire Dale's outstanding scenery. Ingleton waterfall just up the road. Exploring the caves. Lords Antiques shop in Ingleton. Such a big place. Need a whole day!! Clapham has a lovely little village shop. A few years back there was a TV documentary series about the Lakes and Yorkshire Dale's. Well made. A lot took place around Clapham area. I definitely recommend visiting or staying area Clapham. The main hotel is the New Inn Hotel. Dog friendly!! Plenty to explore...

Clapham is a really nice village in the Yorkshire dales.

Clapham is a really nice village in the Yorkshire dales. It is an Ideal base for country walks and mountain walks. You can easily access the remote areas of the dales where you would not see another person all day long. I might regret having said that

Lovely place in the middle of the countryside about 20 miles due East(ish) of Lancaster. Small, quite sleepy village about 1 mile from the station which provides connections to Lancaster and Leeds (and more places I'm sure!). Safe and friendly with nice river flowing through it.

Clapham is a beautiful village. We went beginning of July.

Clapham is a beautiful village. We went beginning of July. It was so quiet. I suspect in high tourist season it can be busy but during our stay Covid restrictions were still in place so no oversees visitors. Clapham has no nightlife so if that's what you want this us not the place to stay. If you want an evening stroll in a pretty little village this is beautiful place. Clapham is the entry point to the Farrer trail that takes you to Ingleborough cave and beyond - beautiful!

Lovely welcome from the new staff and good to see familiar faces too. The hotel is newly reopened but running smoothly. The staff were really kind and helpful and attentive to requests such as extending stay, useful recommendations. The food was delicious both dinner and breakfast. The room was cleaned beautifully. Looking forward to a return visit soon. I know the area well but if you haven't visited its absolutely stunning, I only had time for a short walk from Clapham to Austwick and back but it was beautiful.
