Loved Church Stretton and driving up to the top of Long Mynd and walking across the top of the hills. It was chilly over New Year with occasional blasts of rain and wind but we were lucky to get out twice without getting drenched!
We ate at home in the Brewhouse and the kitchen and equipment was easy to manage though the oven was quite complext work out - might have helped with instruction manual.
If we had stayed longer we would have explored local area for restaurants & pubs to eat in - so no recommendations this time!
We think walkers, hikers, families, couples would all enjoy this place as a quiet getaway from which to explore the local area.

The town is beautifully set between two ranges of lovely hills. It is a charming place with lots of interesting shops and places to eat and drink. It really is a place for all seasons - even in the rain you can be glad you came.

Church Stretton is a large village with little history and not much going for it. Pubs are pretty run down and the main street has a number of charity shops. There is a small co-op in the middle of town. There are no local taxis.

Walked and cycled from the cottage to the pubs - good location and looked forward to going back for the evenings to Thursday's Corner cottage, or just to have a cup of tea mid afternoon! The Long Mynd is a must - beautiful scenery - lots of information in the cottage and the host was very helpful with tips of where to go and what to do - just need to pre-book meals if eating out.

The Stables is perfectly located for exploring Carding Mill Valley, Church Stretton and the surrounding areas. We had a fabulous stay. The hosts were extremely accommodating on the realisation that we needed to book an additional night due to train strikes.
Lovely accommodation surrounded by a nice garden, only 20min walk to Church Stretton high street.
There is a bedroom and separate living area, which was a nice surprise. Kettle, toaster, small fridge, and everything needed for breakfast was provided.
Excellent location in centre of Church Stretton. Quick walk to shops, Pubs, Restaurants and Train Station. We met the hosts who were very friendly and helpful. Apartment is very spacious and comfortable, in very good condition.
