Decent enough for £50 a night. Location is central to retail parks . As other reviews have mentioned, it isn't pedestrian friendly to get into town as there is no pedestrian crossing. We found it was easier going left out of the hotel and across the foot bridge .
Room was basic, but clean. Bed was comfy. Plenty of clean towels, plus the usual shampoo and body wash.
Check in was straight forward and rooms were easy to find.

A lovely old building but brought right up to date by the current owner. Bar staff and management were extremely professional and welcoming. The room was outstanding and I spent an evening after a busy day at work unwinding in very pleasant company. Well recommended

The rooms were modern and clean but a little cramped.
The rooms were modern and clean but a little cramped. There was good secure separation between the hotel rooms and the hotel bars. It is very central to Chesterfield, which was fantastic.
Unfortunately the room did not have a fridge and the wifi cut out every couple of minutes.

Love Chesterfield. Such a pretty town.
Love Chesterfield. Such a pretty town. You must visit the church with the wonky steeple. We loved the market and #Coffee shop.
My husband is on a mobility scooter and the pavements were a bit wobbly!
As we were on a budget we ate at Wetherspoons where my husband enjoyed a really good craft beer and myself an excellent white wine (Villa Maria) Also we enjoyed the food there

Chesterfield was very busy, as should be expected on a Saturday, but the scariest bit was the roundabout system just outside the town near the retail park. I gave up trying to navigate them and changed my plans

Brilliant location for visiting Chatsworth House and Bolsover Castle.
Loved the market town vibe and the twisted spire on the church was fascinating. No climbs inside, til the spring and summer though.
Some fascinating architecture to see and a brilliantly helpful Tourist Information Office where we got a couple of town walk maps.

Second only visit to the city of the "Twisted Spire" even though only for a brief stay over pleasant enough. Have to add the young lady who booked us in at the Spread Eagle was absolutely charming and a credit...will surely have no hesitation in re-booking...so it's a Ten! from Len :)
Nice hotel outside Chesterfield and close to M1 motorway. Rooms are located in the main building and also in separate buildings containing three or four rooms. Ours was in one of these villas and was spacious and comfortable. There is a beautiful spa with all the usual facilities. We had a massage treatment which was excellent. The restaurant was good and our meal delicious. Ample parking.
The location was perfect has I was there for my works Xmas meal so been in the same place all night I was able to enjoy a drink and not have to worry about getting home, the breakfast was a bonus has not many hotels offer breakfast within their price range and every thing was just lovely would highly recommend and if I stay over in Chesterfield again I hope to stay at the Spread Eagle
Well run and friendly hotel. Room well equipped with fridge and ironing board. Staff could not do enough and though a little way from the centre, a taxi was no more than £5.00 or you could walk in about 20 minutes. Free parking was a bonus.
