The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The owner was communicative and available when needed. Access to the facility was straightforward and guidance was provided. If you need a relaxing and calm area for your stay, I would recommend "The Anchor".

There were other rooms which were really nice and wonderful bathroom facilities. Just not ours and I know this because there was a group of us who stayed one was given different accommodation because of the room number 5 over the bar too much noise they could not sleep. Website needs up dating as it states pub bar shut at 11pm but it was 12am ok

Unfortunately I only stayed one night, so did not walk around the town.
But having lived in the area previously for 30 years I know that the town is a very pleasant market town in the Fens, and is well worth a visit. Also a good staging post for visiting the nearby towns and villages, ie Ely, Cambridge.

A quiet but lovely little town with a very friendly atmosphere and sense of community. A bonus of visiting in December is the Christmas lights, which add extra charm. The only negative, when visiting family in the town, is the lack of a railway station - without a car, it takes a cab ride from Ely or Huntingdon (the nearest stations) to get there.

I wanted to stay somewhere close to where my appointment was the following day and saw this lovely hotel online. From arrival to departure nothing was too much trouble, I got an upgrade due to some building works the following morning so even better for me. The room was really clean and well appointed, the bed was comfy and pillows a plenty.
Breakfast was gorgeous - cooked to order and plentiful with a good choice of items to suit most - I left happy with my stay and would stay again if in the area.
The rooms and whole hotel was rather quirky and olde worlde but i loved it. Wonderfully comfy bed... Two bottles of water much needed and appreciated.
The breakfast was lovely!
We liked the smallness of the hotel. It made it more friendly. Staff very approachable. All options of breakfast were covered, brilliant! Nice atmosphere and decor.
